Lol, the inverse is true as well! I'm sure people see my stock Sport S and some people may not wave because they think it'll never see a dusty trail. I've been offroading already and it's fun. I don't need to put a ton of mods on it and didn't want to start my first Jeep with a Rubi because I wasn't sure how much I'd like it (I love it). I would like to get a Rubi after this or possibly even a Bronco (yes I'm on of those), whichever offers me the better product overall. I only plan on doing some lighter offroading, no rock crawling or anything crazy because my truck is leased. Even though it's stock, I still have fun offroad, just nothing too "extreme" :) I was really happy with the performance.
I bet you've read the articles in the rags early on about these- how very capable they are right from the factory, and some of the demonstrations FCA put in showing what they'd do - bone stock.
These are no slouches right off the transport (well, as long as they are prepped LOL)

I think leather seats are too hot. If seat cooling had been offered, I would have splurged for that and leather. Tan leather. And I'd have a grey dash (instead of red) and an armrest in back . And I'd like my Jeep truck even more.
Wow, comparing a Porsche to a TRUCK, a Jeep, off-road and hauling vehicle of all things.
That touches on something I have observed from almost day-one, looking at what members have for other vehicles, etc. - many are extremely well-off car and truck-wise, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, things many people only get to dream of, or buy at auction after a flood.
Money solves everything - and to see a Porsche compared to a JEEP TRUCK? LOL - supports my thinking that those griping the most are those who have bought the best money can buy to take care of their every whim.
Most folks here would be embarrassed to live where I live, the tiny house I have, the messy garage, and the OTHER cars I drive - and those are the ones griping, complaining, about the JT not having the bells and whistles of a high-end LUXURY car.
Wnile the rest of us are thrilled to have the JT as it is.........
I see where a lot of this is coming from now.
Porsche? Wow, I couldn't even make the insurance on one.
I bet if I go and collect all of the post complaining about nit-picky stuff - auto stop/start, non-cooled seats, this that or the other thing, and look at their other cars, I'd see the reason for the complaints.
In the mean time, I see those bringing up logical things, real features not hard to do, things you'd expect in an off-road TRUCK, they drive VW vans, an old Dodge of some sort....
Cooled seats - really........
Oddly, in Iowa, it's common for the dew point to almost match the temp, and the humidity to match the temp - mid to upper 90s, and we've bought leather for years in our other Jeeps, - maybe because in those you don't have top off, doors off, and you have the AC on.

You quoted the wrong post. No Porsche here. You haven't a clue what it's like to sit down on leather when its 112F ambient, probably 150F surface temp. Many people opt for heated seats in their Jeeps. The concept is exactly the same.

BTW, there are some brand new Porsches that cost less than some brand new Gladiators.

I hit reply, not quote - and the Porsche quote was in your post so it sort of got tangled up.
The chromebooks don't allow you to set screen attributes like contrast so some buttons just aren't seen unless you highlight the whole screen...... another better idea from Google. No contrast setting!
Yeah, I have sat down in hot seats like that - had leather in my Silverado, and we've had leather in our other Jeeps. I get it - you don't wear shorts. But it takes quite a bit of infrastructure to support seat cooling, unlike heating which only requires a certain amount of power to run simple heating elements.

So you have had leather ... I never have. I also recall you bitching about no proximity locks, so you're really not one to be calling out anyone else for wanting luxury items. Jeeeez.

You've got the infrastructure point ass-backwards. For A/C it is ducting and perforations. Nowhere near as involved as those heating elements embedded in the seat.

If you don't want to quote someone, just go to the bottom and start typing in the empty box.

Absolutely. Cooled seats. If they are offered I would have picked them up. They are common here in Houston even in beater F150s, most new high end trucks come with them. Texas is the hottest (and in Houston) the most humid place in the US. Today it is currently 96 with a heat index of 110, and 88% humidity. It's know as swamp ass by the Cajun's and the city is literally the Bayou city with a record setting total of over 20 inches of rain- in a day. Heated seats are of no use here, but man cooled ones come in mighty nice on my friends F250 after a day of fishing on the intercostal.

The bigger Ford trucks, like the F250 my friend had, has had them since, well, about 7 or 8 years ago at least. He got them with his last diesel Ford truck he bought while we worked together. He hauls his dogs all over for hunting and such. But we're talking very high end trucks there - he spared no expense when he bought a pickup.

Right, that was my point. Only if cooled seats were available would I have opted for tan leather, which would have included some other goodies like the armrest and gray dash.

So cooled seats for his dogs is reasonable. Me wanting them is opulent?

Jeep did offer the locks on these - I was complaining that we didn't get them ordered. It was more my wife's wanting as she hates the fob. For one thing, with her HANDICAP, she really needs some of those things. She has no thumbs to fumble with a huge fob and push buttons to get in.
So call it an accessibility thing.......

Nothing to the heated seats - I've recovered seats with elements in them. It's a couple of wires, the flat element (at least in the older models) sat into a molded area in the foam. It was simple. So simple you can actually add heated seats to most vehicles pretty easily.
So that's an item that if you miss getting, you can add it yourself if you have even just "ok" skills. Cheap, too.
We've had leather in Jeeps and other trucks for years - when I ask my wife to confirm - she instantly jumps LEATHER. Nothing else.
When I was looking at the Sport S for towing, she said "but those don't have leather seats" and the dealer said he could get them added - that's the only way she would have accepted a sport.

LOL - they weren''t for his dogs - they rode in pens in the back of the truck. He was overweight, and had bad arthritis and was, well, not a young man. I didn't say "ok", just that he bought a very high end truck to get them - spent more than almost anyione here did for their JT.
I recall being in that truck with him going to some field offices for network updates and thinking - what the heck? Really?

Maybe Jeep will offer that as an option/package on the Rubicon or other higher end versions in the future. I could see that as they gain popularity - if they do, hoping they do...

They've got Ford to watch out for now - so who knows. They'll need to try harder to keep ahead, looking over their shoulder.

What irks me is the vent ducts are already there. if you look there are ducts at least in the higher end trims that run under the seat for air at the foot level and then there are also ducts in the center console for vents in the backseat. It couldn't be that difficult to install a small duct on each seat with an electric fan to push air through. The hard part is already done.

Exactly- they are an option on the new Bronco. Just saying, Big guy (6'5" 285) like me makes a lot of sweat on hot leather seats.

Dude, you lost me. What happened between the post where you were criticizing me for wanting them and this one where you are hoping they offer them in the future?
