Trying to decide on which slider/step I want to go with.

Opinions on Rockslide Engineer step slider? I like the fact that it provides a step lower down which my wife would probably like, but I can't mentally get over it being another mechanical/electrical item that could fail or have issues. Especially, when we deal with more mud than rocks here in town.

The other option I have been leaning towards is the White Knuckle Off-Road sliders with rear dimpled top plates.

The White Knuckle sliders are simple, strong, and no moving or electrical parts. But the RSE step sliders would be nice and convenient.

FYI my gladiator is my daily driver and probably won't get too abused for a while.

I went with the White Knuckle sliders. After I put the lift kit on. I made steps for the sliders so that my wife can use. 3 bolts and they come off.

My wife is very happy with the RSE step slider, and I like that I do not have anything hanging lower than that. I had White Knuckle Sliders on two vehicles, and they were good, solid, and high, so they did not give my spouse much help getting in.

If you want a step that looks like a slider and can maybe hold up to small hit, get the RSE.

If you want a slider for slider shit, get WK.

WK at a 45 degree angle with the top plate do plenty of good step function.

There's a guy on here who USES his Jeep for real Jeep stuff - @WILDHOBO - he has the RSE power steps (I think with the armor) and likes them. They'll handle quite a bit.
Sounds like they'd work ok for the OP who needs steps, and sliders, but isn't into the really hardcore smashing the whole bottom-side up on boulders type of use.

If you do as the company suggests - silicone spray, etc. and wire things properly, they'll work fine.

I picked up the RSE sliders about this time last year. The reason I went with them was because they allow my wife to get in easily after I added a lift and 37s. I don’t intentionally rock crawl but do get into mud often and they have never failed to function. When that happens I rinse them out and spray the joints with silicone. They are pricy but the extra step was worth it to me

I also smash them on boulders, and pivot off of them on obstacles. I’ve been doing that so them since 2021. Yes, I have the armor, and mine are gen 3. They handle things just fine. I’ve yet to need to repair anything. They function like new. I use silicone spray on all moving parts regularly. I’ve certainly removed the armor and done repainting, but for cosmetic reasons only.

Everything I’ve heard about the RSE steps has been favorable including from industry pro’s who have seen multiple users. They apparently stand behind the product as well. They are wife approved as well, at least around here. They are on my short list of additions in the near future.

They’re the only mod my wife approved and even asked for.

Pretty soon RSE is going to need to come out with an extended travel version. This thing keeps growing. :) zero regrets. Greatest vehicle ever.

Same here. To this day she thanks me for installing them on her Jeep and mine. No trade is allowed unless those steps go on the next one

RSE - Wife approved. Wife rejected several others, including the AMP step. She loved the RSE, so that's what is on the Gladiator now. I opted for the gen 3 with the armor. There is a side benefit in that I can easily reach most of the roof using the top step. Wallet feels lighter, but as they say, "Buy once, cry once."

There were 2 must have options on the Gladiator from my wife. RSE steps and American Flag decals.

I have both.
