I have used General Altimax Artic (and Arctic 12) snow tires on 5 different vehicles and I absolutely love them. I am currently using the Artic 12s on my wife's CX-5, and that thing is unstoppable in most winter conditions. I've always been a proponent of dedicated snow tires, but I'm going to see how my stock AT3Ws do this winter since they only have 2k miles on them,

Got my LT3s put on Friday and got to test in 5 inches of wet snow this morning. It will be a fun winter.

Love to see other Hakk fans! Usually it's a whole big thing with all those extra letters.

We keep a second set of studded Hakks for every. single. car. that comes through unless it goes on blocks in the winter. Not necessary for everyone everywhere, but definitely a really good idea up here. Wouldn't tackle a mountain winter without them!

Just ordered 4 Hakkapeliitta lt3 studded tires. I’m still on 285/70/17.
Had these on a Taco they are tremendous. I also bought a non-studded set once because we have had snow after the required date for removal of studded tires, also highly recommend. I even have studded bicycle tires by the same manufacturer.

Look at the big tread spacing to spit the snow out, and a very aggressive stud pattern. Oh yeah baby!

Only got about 8 inches so far and some ice, but they are great so far. Left it in 2hi the other day and did not slide at all. Highway ride is almost better than the Wildpeak AT’s.

All terrains. If I were looking for a dedicated snow setup it would be something with studds. Ice- the way they plow is almost as if they are trying to turn roads to ice rinks….

you do realize that post is over 1 year old??

For what its worth, my LT3s just came in. I went with un-studded since most tests show that studs hurt traction in the snow and help in the ice. I'm most worried about maintaining stability in heavy slush and packed snow on the highway during a storm.

Its a trade off. If I lived where it was icy, I'd get studded.

I probably won't put them on the truck until middle of December.

Yes I realize that. I will be ordering studless. Just wanted to see a pic on a Gladiator.

My favorite military line- if you are on time, you’re late!!
???

in all seriousness- this is probably the perfect time to bring this back. Seems like anything and everything that needs to be ordered takes forever….And it’s October! (Already… Geesh the year blew by!)

True. I tried to order my Nokians in December last year and they were sold out other than sporadic availability.

It sucks when your wife's Volvo wagon (on Michelin X-Ice Snows) goes through the snow better than your jeep. Ha.

I'm bringing my original Mojave wheels over to the tire shop today to get 315/70-17 LT3s mounted up.
