Two weeks ago I visited Denton Dodge for the final jeep wave oil change. I took it in, told them that I thought my jeep wave covered, they said no problem, I waited two hours for my truck back even though they said no appointment, then they charged me $80.
When I asked the boy at the counter why it wasn't covered he said it didn't show in the computer and they were too busy to look into it. Mind you, he didn't turn around and look me square in the face the entire conversation, and just wanted me out of his hair. He was very nervous and I felt for him, but he should have been nervous for good reason, according to what came next. I paid the $80 and walked away. I was out $80 and two hours of my time. I thought I was going to get my oil changed covered, they refused to check beforehand. They made a margin on an oil change. No big deal.
Guess I'm a stealership sucker once again.
I hopped in my jeep. Seat is stuck at 5'2 (I'm 6'1). Wouldn't budge. Okay no big deal. They couldn't have broken it right? No way. I'll fix it when I get home.
Nope, stuck. There was also some clunking going on. Something didn't seem right. I should check their work.
Oh, I found the clunker! The tech left his wrench in my engine bay, where it flew around for 30 minutes on a highway while I was going 70mph. Cool.
Called the dealership for a week straight, and they put me on hold each time. Okay. I need to talk to someone. Filed A BBB report.
Walter, the GM called me the next day to leave a VM. He said that he would fix the seat. Cool. I leave town tomorrow. He said he would expedite it. This is what I heard every other time as well. I have now wasted several hours of my time trying to get them to fix my seat and a simple apology from someone.
I call Walter. Walter calls back. We talk, I am frustrated. I want nothing but honesty and an explanation. He just wants to get me out of his hair. Not man enough to own up to his mistake and explain what the hell went wrong with this routine oil change. I want some assurance that there isn't some problem I will find and they will say its not their fault.
I am disappointed. I recommend you don't visit Denton Dodge for anything. I will never visit another Jeep stealership for service again, even if they say it will be "free."
Long story short, I am going to fix my seat myself and pray that they didn't do anything to damage my second most valuable asset. Really angry that I just bought a second Jeep (a grand cherokee L). Really disappointed. No wonder very few people respect Jeep nowadays.
