Both, but have only used Mopar to date. Knowing they’ve been one of the supply line issues, I have 3-4 in storage…along with 7 5qt jugs of the special sauce. Of course I’m dealing with a 3.0L Italian diesel so I don’t know if there’s been an issue in getting supplies for the 3.6 or not.

I use Docs and change at 15k. My tuner said Mopar is better and last longer; usually good for about 20k.

That I have seen, they are all made in China. If you compare the oem/mopar side by side, disregarding the outside markings you wouldn't know the difference. Atleast in my case, I bought a couple $80 mopar filters (when they first became available) and a couple eBay sub $20 filters and I can not see any difference. I haven't scientifically tested them(or my oil) and cannot comment on the actual filter material, but from appearance they are identical, down to the o-rings, even type/color. I wonder how @Hdog911 tuner could truly make that comment with any accuracy. I wouldn't think you could tell that information without having the oil tested and doing side by side testing... most people just assume oem is better and pass that opinion along.

My main concern would be if aftermarket filters retain your factory warranty ? If so, it probably doesn't matter which one you use and I would let my budget deside.

There are no true aftermarket filter to date. No well known aftermarket brands offering them. Either FCA hasn't give out licensed or no ones interested it, very unlikely. Imo, all these no brand name filters are considered as counterfeit.

The packaging date

In a loose bag. Not tightly heatshrink wrapped.

Green marking paint in that exact location.

Gloss plastic outer layer.

Bypass valve has a dimple on top of tge valve.

There are (3) tiny raised nipple inside the output port. White dot near the pointer.

Date stamped.

Mold or production numbers.

Great pics, I have several OEM. I also have several NON-OEM, maybe I should take pictures like yours so people can see the difference.

FYI: The NON-OEM I purchase came packaged exactly like the OEM you have pictured, none of the ones I purchase came "shrink wrapped".

Mine DID NOT come in Mopar packaging(Box), I believe just a plane white box, but they were in the exact same type of loose plastic bag, not shrink wrapped.
I'm willing to bet they were made in the same factory , possibly even on the same line as the OEM.

I just deferred to his expertise and decided not to press him on why. Aftermarket filters won't adversely impact warranty AFAIK.
