Need some guidance. 2021 Jeep Rubicon Diesel. What’s the best way to improve the diesels ride over washboard and bumps without lifting? I feel like I have to crawl over bumps currently. At most I want is a level. This is my daily driver. I would like something composed on the bumps but not too stiff like a diesel 2500.
If you are just looking for a better ride quality you should look at getting the TSB done for the suspension if it qualifies.

More info in this thread:

Your stock Rubicon diesel JT bottoming out? Here’s the fix!!

The TSB definitely helped others.

I have a diesel and I'm trying to figure out the suspension plan. I was leaning towards a 2.5" lift because I still need to tow about once a month and carry stuff in the bed. With the limited uptravel, should I be looking at a 3.5" or would the 2.5" hit the "sweet spot" for a do-anything setup.

We have an LJR on 35"s for the big trails, the truck mostly carries fuel for it and the camping gear until the trail gets hairy.
I did the 2.5" lift on mine and it does well.

'22 Sport S with the diesel and just lifted my truck 2 weeks ago. I pieced together a Mopar lift for less than $500 (new springs, LCAs and Sway bar links) and pair it with Eibach springs ($550). Couldnt be happier. If you really do not want a lift, then go with the spacers as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Weight in the back helped smooth the ride with stock suspension. More than I was expecting. The diesel thrived with the heavy load btw! In love!

As a fellow diesel owner in the same situation, what springs would we pair with low lift Claytons in the front for the rear?
I tossed a few sand bags in the bed and it settles on road suspension significantly.

Weight in the back doesn't change that I feel like I've had a front end crash every time I pass over a small-mid size pothole or seam in the concrete.

I'd only do this if it's free, otherwise I'm spending the money on a big kid suspension.
I totally agree. I was thinking TSB are covered but I guess that is only if you are still under warranty. If it's not free I would go aftermarket for sure.

Yeah, it'd be covered if still under warranty, but that means it's necessary to get the dealership to actually agree that there's a problem and the TSB parts need to be installed. I've more or less resigned myself to the fact any fix for crashing through dips in the road will be paid for out of my own pocket.

The diesel has longer bumpstops to stop the front axle from colliding the oil pan at full compression. At stock height there’s very little up travel. A 1 1/2” coil spacer will get you more room and level at the same time. I think you’ll be amazed at how much that will change the ride quality over bumps.
If the bump stop extensions are installed with the lift, doesn’t the up travel stay the same? Or am I missing something?

No need to install bump stop extensions on the diesel since it already has longer bump stops. Best practice is to cycle/flex the suspension and add only enough bump stop to prevent contact. Most “lift kits” come with way more bump stop than is needed, most likely to protect the manufacturer from any chance of contact.

I was the beta tester for the Clayton diesel springs. They lift the front up about 1". Are a stiffer spring rate. Still has a good ride. I have the springs for sale. $100 plus shipping. These springs with a set of Bilstein 5100, and bump stops will make a big difference. The stock Rubi Fox shocks are under dampened. They're too soft.

I have a 4" lift with hydro bump stops now.
Which bump stop replacements would you recommend for a 1 in spacer lift? I see teraflex has some rubber ones but they look long.

When I tested the springs. I still had the oem bump stops in. There is a lot of different bump stops out there. I couldn't tell you which ones to use. Because I never used any. So my opinion really wouldn't count. I have hydraulic's installed now and love it.

If you want to use the oem front springs and raise the front up 2" and have hydraulic bump stops. Plus being adjustable for height if you add a winch bumper and winch later on. Install the JKS kit. I did with Clayton 2.5" diesel front springs and their 3.5" rear spring. Got 4" of lift.

Okay cool. These raise the front end and have bump stop impact reduction?? Seems like a great solution.
