I'm beginning to get the random rats nest of wires and boxes and components accumulating in, on and around the battery and fuse box. No where else to put them that to just stuff them around everything.

-Power step controller
-Accessory relays
-Winch relay
-Air horn pumps
-GPS/cellular tracker
-random wires, cutoff switches, and things I want
-bonus if has bus bars inside for power, constant or ignition

Does anyone make this, what is called, where can I get....some sort of mountable box, frame, something that I can use to mount and contain all this crap to both protect it, make the engine bay clean, but also have good access to everything? Should be something, I imagine that bolts to the frame, but hinged or easily disconnects, or it is really super awesome in all ways...have a way for me to terminate all my wires to a connector(s) so the whole box can be removed without having to disconnect all wires....just some large connector I terminate on.

Anything?

American Adventure Lab has been showing an underhood mounting tray that fits near the battery and holds stuff like what you want. I don't see it on their website so it might not be out yet.

EDIT: No clue if it will fit the diesel or not.

Here is my power distribution setup. If I need to get at the battery, I can discount neg and pos leads, undo the two bolts on the fender, flip the whole assembly to the outside. I leave enough slack in the lines to do that.

My goal was to isolate all accessory circuits. Prior experience with batteries getting kill at the wrong time, wrong place or some accessory that the factory computer does not like. That black box is a Blue Sea battery saver. If the battery voltage drops below a setting level, it disconnects the accessories until the engine starts up and there is adequate current. Override switch is just below it in the picture if I need to run the radios in an emergency or something. The only add-on directly wired to the battery is the winch.

A hodgepodge of what is powered by this. Have added a few things since this photo was taken, but currently, one 6g lead goes out to an AuxBeam controller for the offroad lights. The ARB pump and my radios are wired directly into the fuse box and power blocks. One 8g wire goes to a secondary distribution block similar to this that is under the back seat platform. There a charger, lithium batteries, and power for USB ports, a 50qt frig, interior lights.

The plate was made by my my neighbor, a fab guy. They are available from various venders as well. I like the ones from 813 Fab. Have one of his plates on the other fender for the AuxBeam controller. Also have his firewall mount for the ARB.

Waterproof project box, silicone caulk, poly risers, epoxy 6 studs for 3 buss bars (NEG, B+, IGN), 2ga wire for B+ buss and 4ga for IGN/GND busses. Use stainless 1/8" x 1" for the buss bars. A breaker can be mounted remotely for B+, and wire a remote high-current relay fed off the breaker output and switched by the 12v acc harness.
- This is part of my plan when I get the 2nd battery, inverter, winch, and audio installed.

I considered suggesting 8ga for the GND buss, as you should GND your devices as close to them as possible, when possible. But for when it's not, the added gauge would support everything without issue.

You could also mount a fuse box from a junkyard from a small vehicle and it would provide all sorts of connections. Obviously this part wouldn't help for a winch, but everything else could.

@CKayaks We need pics of these 813 mounts in the engine bay. I’m going this same exact route and would like to see what I’m in for.
I need to tidy up my wire bundles yet. The hose for the ARB is a bit long, but that is what I had on hand. It goes to an outlet on the cowl.

Both the 813 mounts were easy to install. The pump mount takes a little creativity to set the bottom bolt, but he gives you hints on how to do that in the videos.
