Anyone else experiencing a clicking noise with their doors? I found in the JL forum that some Wrangler owners are having the same issue but didn't see anyone mention it with a Gladiator yet.

I've been dealing with this issue since May. Started out with just 2 doors back in May when the dealership suggested just replacing the door checks. Finally took the Jeep back in the middle of July (having difficulties with communication at the dealership but that's another story) and by that time another door started to have the click. They replaced the door checks and the clicking sound was still there so they took apart the door and found there was a bad weld in the door that is causing the click and they'd have to be in contact with Jeep/Chrysler. Jeep Engineer came and look at the doors today and suggested a full replacement of the 3 doors, but I was warned that they come un-painted and matching the Hydro Blue paint might be difficult. Dealership said Jeep/Chrysler will be contacting me with the full details on what they found and what options I have.

I'm glad that its not a mechanical issue but it's still irritating to have the doors click every time you open them. So I'll just wait and see what options they come back with and let everyone here know!
I haven't noticed, but then again, I'm rarely that close to where all the Jeep doors are stacked in the garage.

Darn, I didn't have this issue until I read this thread. I have the clicking noise (driver side). All four doors are brand new (warranty)!
Same with mine.
Had all 4 doors replaced under corossion and now they pop when opened.

I do believe that they just need to be taken off and lubed and they would stop that.

I think once the clicking starts, lube won’t fix it. I have had my doors off in the summer and have lubed the mechanism but the click comes back.
What about shining them up polishing the mechanism etc.. surely where there is a will there is a way .

Replaced the door check, and noise gone! New one on right (68297663AC). I couldn't get the old one to make any noises, even after drilling out the rivots and taking it apart. Looked like just normal wear. No cracks or broken spring.

How difficult is the removal and replacement? Any pictures of the door with it apart? Thanks.

Darn, I wasn't able to take pictures with the door panel off. It was easy to remove the outer panel. I disconnected the cables and harness to take the panel off completely. Then, I removed all of the 10mm hex bolts on the inner panel. That allowed me to be able to reach in a little bit from the bottom opening. I let the old part drop into the door, then I used a long screw driver to push the old part back far enough for me to grab it with my fingers. To get the new one in, I used a fish tape (zip tied the door check bolt hole to end of fish tape) to pull it from the opening. Hope my description makes sense. Let me know if you have questions. Took about 30 minutes.
