My gladiator will be delivered this week.

And I have 4 questions about taking the doors off.

1) Primarly in Lousiana (also some Texas & Arkansas)
Are there any laws regarding going down public roads with the doors off.

2) Is there anything better for taking to door bolts off, than the wrench that comes with it?? ( I was thinking about getting a cheap electrical impact from Harbor Freight for this job)

3) Is there any type of security for when the doors are off, and you go to Wal-Mart & run into get something to Stop or catch some A-hole, from damaging the inside?

4) What is the preffered brand / product for hanging them on a wall??

1. Don’t know about your state. Texas, not against the law.

2. Take the bolts out once and never put them back in.

3. Welcome to jeeps. There’s always aftermarket storage but the truck is new. But it’s always a risk to lose things.

4. I use .89/ea dollar eye bolts.

@Novaice

1% over

It was done right, right before the employee, friends & family.... and all that discount pricing went live.

But I still happy with my 1% over

Automatic transmission

Landers Dodge, Jeep, Crystler, Fiat in Bossier City.

I can PM you my salesman info. It has been a great experience & very happy with everything

So what is the preffered brand for doors off mirrors?

to me , I don't care for brand, just what looks good.
But I like the default jeep mirrors, so i ended up buying another one with a relocation bracket.

I have the Kikbax for my JKUR and I love them. Super easy to put on after you remove the doors. No wobble at highway speeds and the foot peg makes driving more comfortable. Well worth the extra money IMO.

Absolutely agree. Couldn’t justify the cost of Carolina MM to myself or the wife.

I wouldn't use anything other than the supplied wrench or hand tools on the door bolts. its way to easy to strip or damage a thread or bolt when using power tools, especially if you remove the doors often.

I’m going to get a small right angle drill attachment. Been using the Jeep tool kit, but it’s a slow process.
I ended up getting this Dewalt right angle tool attachment for $24 at Lowe’s. Not 100% satisfied as it twists a little when at final torque, but for $24 it will do for this simple job. Does not to touch the door paint when in use and enough surface area to grip it and control. Guess I’ll keep it.

I've looked for info on it and haven't been able to find any good info. How does bolts out affect crash performance? Do the doors fly off in a roll over or similar?

Just don't crash...it's a jeep thing?

EDIT: Sorry for thread jacking.
If you are in a crash, the door bolts are the least of your worries

ARC off road makes great door hangers for the jeep. Also, like @cajun charlie said, I only use the upper door bolt on my factory doors to lessen the time it takes to remove them.
Why use any bolts? My 02 Wrangler has spent 18 years boltless on the doors....not even sure I could find the baggie I put them in...just in case....

My Gladiator will do the same.

Same for my gladiator. No point in the bolts if you frequently take doors off

Yeah I ended up taking them out. Running soft doors/no doors right now anyways.

I'm using the same guides. They work great.

Even throw these on with some anti-seize to protect the bolts. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KYKWDGL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have the hard bed cover, so when I have the doors off, I just throw everything that I need to in the bed or just don't bring it. Other than that, if they see it, well...........

In most states, I do believe you have to have at least two mirrors. I know that is the case in FL and SC.

4th Jeep, once the door are off the first time.. that is the last time the door bolts are on. Did an upgrade on the JTR and these now stay on all the time. Does make it easier to put the doors back on as the top pin is longer than the bottom. You do have to be careful as someone on here bought door pins and they ended up being plastic crap. These are stainless steel, Kentrol door alignment pins.
