I have lineX... but I initially bought a drop in. I definitely think if I was doing something heavy duty, I would temporarily install it.Drop-ins are objectively better for actual work. They absorb impacts much better and after you pull them, the bed looks brand new. I’ve had them all. Currently I have a factory spray. If I used my bed for more that grocery’s and harry-homeowner duty, I’d find a drop-in like a responsible adult.
Drop a man sized log (by hand)in the bed, and then dance around like a clown because your spray-in communicated the force more directly and left a dent. Skip the diatribe about how a log dropped from a skid steer at 12 feet would dent through both.
Spray in is definitely more sexy and great for non-impact duty, but you are correct, if I'm potentially dropping bricks or logs, I would have better peace of mind with a drop in.
So I figured I couldn't go wrong with both?
