Alright, installed the dry type block heater yesterday, and this morning it was -28°C outside. Been plugued in all night.

Temperature around the plug was about 38°C and Radiator temp was 5°C before start up.

Go check the video if you wanna see it cold start :

It was expensive but it works.

I think it depends which Gorilla built the engine if you’ve got more or less torque on the blank.
That and the pre-heated engine helped. Most advise you see almost always mentions heating "X" before trying to loosen it if it has the famous mopar threadlocker on it... learned this quick while loosening body bolts.

Got my cord today, will install tomorrow and report back later.

Why is there threads on the heater, but nothing on the cord to thread it? ? thats kinda dumb.

Pics of the heater , wondering what threads you are talking about.

I just went through the same thing. That part (68523853AA) is not for the gas engine. You insert it into the brass plug that is in the block. It fits perfectly and clicks when it’s fully seated. No need to drain coolant or remove the plug. I scratched my head for two days and almost sent the part back until someone on Facebook posted a pic of the same part inserted into the brass plug. I was like, “What? No way!” But, it works.
What cord did you get to work with it ? The Mopar plugs ,I saw didn't have a screw cap that screws onto the heater ... it looks like it just pushed on... but it appears the heater has threads for the screw cap ?

I have the old style block heater and cord. From what I've seen. All the cords just push in.

I think so. It’s listed for the ‘23 but I don’t see it listed for earlier models. The question would be if the factory brass plug for the ‘23 is the same as previous year models, or if it was modified for ‘23 and this part only fits in the ‘23 plug. I don’t know.
Its listed for 22/23

The plug for the gas is completely different.
Yeah, just realized... been starting at this screen to long.

What I can't figure out is why Mopar didn't add a screw cap to their plug, looks like both heater styles have the threads for it.

Confirmed it will fit in a 2023. Literally just put this stuff in this past weekend.
Don’t forget the “Mopar” coolant…. Didn’t need much…. But did need some.

Do you have a link for the plug you used with the (68523853AA) ?
