I honestly dont think any of that is going to help the water/oil temp situation. It may raise or lower underhood temps. I have chosen to do nothing for now with mine.
What’s the reason for doing nothing with yours ? Just curious I know you have been looking for solutions have you just decided it’s not worth the hassle or cost ? Don’t get me wrong I feel like jeep should be doing something about it rather then just leaving it on the owner’s but it looks like it is in deed on the owners lol

Not willing to chance voiding my warranty or creating more potential for leaks. I also generally don't tow when its hot, so not much need.

I really hate adding aftermarket clutter under to hood that makes thing more difficult to work on too.

I have to re-iterate; since matching gears to tire size, trimming the intake boot, and adding the SB scoops, the rig has been performing satisfactorily while towing the 28' Airstream. While adding the Insane is on the list, I am reluctant to go much further with mods. Removing cells of superheated air underhood, returning powertrain transmission shift patterns matched with ground speed, and allowing the engine to breathe seem to've relieved much of the stress the powertrain was experiencing.

What trimming did you do?

I have had zero derate issues. I tow a 30 foot travel trailer and this past summer I was seeing oil temps of 245 to 255 in 90deg. Temps in NY. Im simply looking to keep temps down to under 220ish. This spring I will be towing the trailer down to myrtle beach for a week of relaxation. When I get all my parts in I’ll start looking at locations to mount things up. Even tho I have no derate issues I’m hoping that the products I install and the the methods I implement once posted here will help others. I’ll take pics and make a guide to my end results for everyone to see. So far I’m at just over 1k in cost. That’s the cooler a thermostat some fittings 20 feet of braided line hose clamps and the insane diesel filter kit for the wrangler..
it’s 9 degrees out here right now and I have no garage so it will be a bit before I get everything installed. Might even pay to have it done if the weather holds me up too long!!

You were right on the line of derate but it looks like you stayed under it, good work. I think I first feel derate at 237 coolant and 257 oil temp. I also suspect that EGT is a part of the equation. I've had my rear passenger footwell heat up so much it that it softened up my floor mats to a level that terrified me.

I will be watching turbine inlet temperatures this summer just to track another datapoint. I went out today and crawled under the truck. Finding an ideal place to mount the cooler is going to take some doing. As of now it looks like under the bed is going to be the safest place. As far as the filter goes I’ll have to see when it comes. My led bed lights are blocked off by my decked system so depending on wire size and electrical load capacity I might just tap the fans off of that circuit. Then it’s already switched from the cab. Will post up further progress when I make some lol.

Kit from insane diesel should arrive today. Bit of a fuck around with changing from t tap to oil cap. I called and they changed it but it got changed to a gc kit and two days later I noticed and called again to make sure they were sending the right one. They then swapped it to the wrangler kit. A week later via usps and it’s out for delivery today. See how it all plays out here soon.

I have reached out to banks and snow performance both of which made kits for the ram of years past.

Supposedly snow performance got the following from water methanol post intercooler:

https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1507-snow-performance-power-max-water-methanol-system/

"

'14 Ram 1500. In baseline tests on a Dynojet chassis dyno, the 3.0L V-6 engine produced 233.05 hp and 392.64 lb-ft of torque.
With the water-methanol, EcoDiesel performance was improved by another 50.87 hp and 111 lb-ft of diesel torque, with 4.14 psi of additional boost! We noticed in our analysis of the 283.92hp/503.19-lb-ft water-meth pull (see dyno chart), the gains were steady throughout the entire 2,000-rpm-to-3,700-rpm span."

The kit is discontinued but i reached out to both snow and banks to see if they have nozzle sizing.

Our 3.0L engine cant take much water methanol with the siwrl valves and all the garbage in the manifold which can clearly cause dripping/puddling. I would think if you only inject at high rpm and max boost it could take 1 gph or so.

Anyone tried methanol injection yet on a JT? Curious if using a Snow or AEM kit even with a smaller 250mm nozzle would get you just enough water in there to cool it down. Not looking for tuner HP, but a cooling solution.

You do realize more power = more heat.

Pretty sure jeep did testing without the grill? I think you need a taller wider radiator core to cool more and they cant really get this in the front section of the JL/JT frame.
I agree that a larger radiator or oil cooler is the right answer. But this couldn't hurt. Especially if you have lights or a winch blocking part of the existing grill.
