Wonder what the difference between 01A and Z96 is. My Jeep app showed available for Z96. Went into the dealer to get myself on the list. We'll see.

I want the pump changed now so they don’t have to replace the whole system later.
Wouldnt you want them to replace the whole system later so you get more miles out of it.... and they replace everything not just the pump. But the filters, the lines and then a longer warranty?

If they fix the pump right then there should be no worry about getting a longer life out of of the pump I would think. Maybe there will be some kind of extended warranty on this part. There is already a 100k factory warranty on the diesel, not sure if that includes the fuel system though.

My dealer called me yesterday and said they needed my odometer reading and that they had to order parts with my name on them. After they get them in they will call me.

My dealer just ordered my pump. She couldn’t give me a copy of the recall repair instructions. It’s like 50 pages. If you have no symptoms you just get the pump. She couldn’t tell me wha the difference is, I.e CP3, redesigned CP4.2. At first she said there weren’t parts for it, the parts guy confirmed that they just became available. She agreed Stellantis’s comms suck. Also apparently they’re only allowed to buy 1 pump a week. They’ve not had any Jeeps with the failure, only a Ram.

Glad I called parts directly. Had gone into the service department, filled out my paperwork to get things started. They said they'd get with parts to get everything ordered. But they didn't seem too sure of themselves. So I call parts today to see if it did get ordered and ETA. Long story short, they ordered a gas pump. Fortunately, the girl in parts seemed to know what she was doing and placed the order for the correct DIESEL pump. She said the system only allows one per week, but I was the first one in town, so mine is on the way whenever FCA decides to send it.

My neighbor is a service manager at a nearby dealership and they just received an order of new pumps. Unfortunately he didn’t get the install kits at the same time so they can’t start calling people in for repairs yet but I was excited to hear they are out in the wild now and not just dedicated to new units on stop sale. He also said it wasn’t explained or obvious what was changed in the design, so someone will probably have to buy one and tear it apart to confirm the difference.

Assuming you haven't had a failure already, it's just a replacement of the pump and a couple related pump components.
So it's the same pump that is being recalled?

I can't see them installing literally the same pump . I would think they at least tweaked the pump and now maybe its the CP4.3 ? Or here is to wishful thinking . ?

I can't either, that's why I asked the question of the FIX, the answer I got cleared nothing up...

My service writer said that the procedure outlined in the recall is to do an inspection if the customer is having symptoms, otherwise just replace the pump. But we’ve seen some people here find metal in their filter. There may still be some question as to whether that’s from the fuel or the pump depending on where the filter is. Anyway, I want my dealer’s techs to inspect this thing too.

The writer dictated the part number to the parts guy. I should have written it down. I’ll post it if I can get it. Like I said, I asked her if it was different and she just said the instructions don’t specify. It just has a part number. It’s different from the CP4. I don’t think it’s a CP3. So I’m assuming it’s a revised unit. I just hope this is a real fix.
