Any concerns about heat? I recall Ford and GM putting intercooled tips on their diesel exhaust because on regen it would get hot enough to burn things. I wonder if part of the purpose of the exhaust you removed was to cool down the exhaust gases on regen.

Jeezus, you must own a Line X franchise! If not how much did all that cost? That a lot of prep work and material. Looks great! What color was the JT to begin with? Did you also remove the carpet and do the interior?
Lol thanks. No I don’t own one. It’s Kevlar. This is my second one I’ve done. I had a 2020 gas and then when the diesel came out I sold the gas cause I wanted the diesel. Here are some pics of the process but yes we ripped it all the way down and got every factory spot they’re wise. Factory color was Hydro blue.

I agree, I'm curious of the gears he's running because if its 3.73 or 4.10. I'm calling BS. I'd even think it's hard to get mileage like that with any gears unless it's a diesel. He would be the only one I know who has ever done it and got mileage like that. Some are having problems getting over 20 with these truck stock.
Post #4 has a photo in it. Did you see what side the exhaust is on? By calling BS you’re jumping the gun insinuating he’s lying. Take two seconds look at the photo and determine yourself if he’s running a diesel or not. Then you can edit your comment if you’d like.

Dumping the exhaust before the axle isn't a good idea. Over time, the exhaust will cook the E-brake cable. Don't ask me how I know.

I thought about getting that and MBRP straight pipe that has a flange on the upstream portion. Looking at the front edge of the muffler for an edge being toward the front of the truck it just looks like a shovel to me I got to do something. Not to mention it’s gotta shave 20-25 lbs if I were to guess.

I'm not editing anything because I said in the comment unless it's a diesel, I'm calling BS on it and that's my stand. Obviously it's a diesel or you wouldn't have felt the need to make a comment like you did.

Well, its in the diesel sub-forum.

But, its definitely not BS. I was pulling an average of 20mpg on 37's with a whole overland/rtt/heavy weight setup, and that's down here in Texas (low elevation). Picked up another (stock height/tires Rubicon) in Idaho and drove it back to Texas (including idling, and wheeling in Arizona) and averaged 28mpg during the whole trip. That's obviously mixed elevation/speeds.

That same Jeep from Idaho now sits with the same overland/rtt/heavy weight setup but still on stock tires and I am averaging 23mpg down here in Texas. Honestly the larger tires seem to make it perform better as the turbo spools differently
