So I need a brake controller and have been reading the forums and decided I wanted the factory Mopar unit to keep everything stock looking. Looked over several installation threads and the instructions. I went out and checked just to make sure that I could see the gray plug up in there but then I noticed that the metal bracket that the control unit bolts to in the instructions and in peoples pictures are not there in the bracket. Has anybody else ran into this issue? Is there an updated mounting location for the control unit now? Here is a pic from somebody’s installation and a picture up under my dash.

The bracket is under the dash but at the side of your left foot. Not above your knees. Is this where your photo was taken?

The top photo is one from an installation post showing the mounting location per the instructions. The second photo is of my 2025 Gladiator of the exact same location, up above the drivers left side kick plate. There are no holes to attach the controller to like all other pics and instructions show.

Yes that is correct. You will have to drill a new (additional) hole for the second stud of the controller. My 25 looked like that also.
