In a side by side the Gladiator may be faster down the 1/4 mile. But the gladiator has to downshift 3 gears and rev the piss out of itself to get up highway hill. The Grenadier just drives up the hill. No downshifting no sky high revs. Just smooth power delivery.
But Now who Flogs the piss out of there engine like that all the time. I may run mine up to 4000 a couple times a week but sure as shooting don't run it super hard with any regularity. So I dont think that really matters. 🤔 I didn't buy mine for Hauling or Racing. I do like power like any other car or truck enthusiasts but Doesn't all of that defeat the real intended purpose of these trucks?
I aint being a smart elick just asking ?

I am happy the OP found a new vehicle he likes. But sticking around here and shitting on why the Gladiator failed him will get a little old for the home crowd.

would you say better or worse than a Landcrusier 200 series build wise?
Better in some ways. It’s solid. The finish is more utilitarian. It’s squarely aimed at being a purpose built off-roader. And it’s built that way. Rubber floors, plastic trim. Soft touch material where you would expect it. But compared to the Toyota this would seem antiquated in ways.

I’m not shitting on it. I’d buy another. I’ve had 7 jeeps. I’m just giving my impression. If you ask about technology or creature comforts the jeep wins hands down. The only two things I didn’t like about my rubicon were the seats, and how the engine delivered its power. I was very happy with it otherwise. And if they put the hurricane engine under the hood, I might very well get another. I don’t get where you come up with “shitting” in anything. But to each their own I suppose.

How did the dash and instrument layout feel? The grenadier is pretty different with how the dash is laid out going from memory. Seemed pretty cool to me. The only thing I didn't care for was that out of place shifter knob.
That will take some getting accustomed to. This thing is very “simple” center dash, center everything really. I get the idea from the simplicity to go from left to right hand drive builds with less cost from the manufacturing perspective. When it comes to technology and overall dash layout, the 2024/25 jeeps are hands down much more elegant and refined. This I would describe as utilitarian.
The roof mounted switch panel is part of the package, and you can spec auxiliary power for lights and winches. Not in my build. But it certainly has some thought put in to what it would be intended for. It’s a modern defender 110/Puma. It definitely tries to hang on to that feeling.

Perception is a hell of a drug. People love torque (just look at the diesel crowd), but to me slow is slow and torque alone doesnt tickle my biscuits. An extra second is a big no from me dawg since as it is the gladiator is a bit underpowered (imo) and the ineos falls in to woefully inadequate range.

I does, but re tune the DME and it doesn’t.

its a B58, downpipe and an tune off the internet. easy 500hp or more

edit: I'd assume the OE tune is maximized for efficiency, and torque everywhere. sure its only 281 hp but im sure that come from being tuned to have 331ft-lbs anywhere in the rpm range so its a very potent 281 hp. almost electric motor esque in a sense.

Local Ford dealership in Central CA coast has a few Raptor Broncos on lot with stickers of $126k.
Just did a B&P on ford.com selecting every possible option to be as expensive as possible and I couldn't get over 107k
