Flimsy Front Inner Fenders

I just purchased a JT Rubicon on Friday May 17th.... On Sunday, with less than 250 miles on the JT, My passenger wheel well liner sucked in and rubbed though on the tire. I checked my Dad's JL Rubicon and his has much stiffer material in that wheel well liner.

It was very windy when this happened and we were on a 70mph highway.

Wondering if anyone else is having issues with the front inner fenders being sucked down into the tire at highway speeds? I will try and post a link to a video later. @JeepCares

The fix seems pretty easy to me. Just don't drive when it's windy out.
SMH. I wonder if more fasteners would do the trick or is it just the liner is too thin?

Sounds like too thin....need to nip this in the bud now Jeep @JeepCares cost a whole lot more for field repairs

Interesting. Second report here and it has MT tires also like the OP. Be interesting to see if this shows itself with AT tires.

Im following this pretty closely as I'm about to pull the trigger on a JT Rubicon. Has @JeepCares or anyone for that matter been responsive? If you get some sort of resolution, I hope you will share. Thanks for the heads up!

I have talked to my dealer and they will get it taken care of. I am just waiting for them to get done with some warranty and recalls on my jku.

I agree, I have seen one other also on FB and it also had M/T tires. I live in a very windy area and I am sure that has something to do with it.

Sounds like the same driving and weather condition as it was for me.

Easiest resolution is to rip them off and get aluminum ones in there. One of the first things I am going to do. The plastic is garbage and this just confirms even moreso about that. If we gotta wait for aftermarket metal ones, itll be fine driving without the shitty plastic ones.

I was going to make the same suggestion till I saw your post . . . may I add there are a limited # for the JT, but for NOW, ARTEC does have them - both front (should be same for JL) and the rears (not like the JL) . . . other companies, for instance CBI (big fans of the Taco!) have them for the Taco and hopefully they will come around for the Jeeps . ? I do agree . . . this situation is just one more 'fail" on the part of jeep engineers to perhaps try lowering the cost (of doing business), sell more jeeps, but in so doing have "created" for themselves yet another Angry Customer(s) . ?

Honestly I am waiting for Metalcloak most likely. Have had great experiences with theirs on my JK for the last 3 years. But I am open to other companies depending on who comes out with what.

You honestly should. MC is a fantastic company that stands by their products. I can't tell you (or anyone for that matter) how many times I have seen someone break something and MC has taken care of it immediately without cost to the consumer. Hell, I destroyed the grease boots on my tie rod and drag link when I installed them. Contacted them to purchase new ones and they sent me them without question or payment. When the package arrived I was given extras just in case I messed up again.

I am ripping off my fenders and putting MC ones on as fast as I can. They know the JL front fenders will fit, they are currently waiting on their Gladiator to fit the rear ones too. Very excited for that.

Driving 40 mph through town, hit a slight bump crossing bridge & tire started eating the plastic wheel well. I caught fast, pull over, pushed it back into place.
