i installed the vision x lights recently and wired them to auxiliary 4. i cut out the relay, fuse, and switch from the supplied harness since i wired them to the auxiliary switch. easy install and they’re super bright

Is that harness plug and play into your trailer harness? Did you link into the reverse lights as well as the aux switch? Or just the aux? Would appreciate it if you could document the wiring process. Thx.

that has a very uniform gap, so it doesn't appear to look weird from 6-12 feet back. Kinda pricey, but its all done, and hopefully the lights are BAF - Bright AF.......:giggle:

I just wired the lights to the aux switch - power wire to the aux 4 power wire in the engine bay next to the battery and ground wire to an engine bay ground screw. their harness comes with a relay with the power wire going to the battery and ground wire. there’s a switch from the relay that is supposed to be placed through the firewall into cabin. since i wired to the aux switch, i cut out and did not use supplied relay, switch or fuse. the harness is not designed to plug into the trailer harness. hope this helps

So the Vision-x lights are 60deg flood with 2000lumens/ light, and 1A draw, with mounting plate comes to $250 before shipping. EMARK R23.00 RATED
https://www.visionxusa.com/shop/20-jeep-gladiator-reverse-light-kit/
@salsadoc has them and they're BRIGHT

@salsadoc also has them, his photo below.

The rigid Industries Ignight bulbs are 60deg flood are 1000lumens/light and 1A draw, no mounting plate and cost $127 IP68 RATED

@mazeppa has these, said he would buy a less expensive Amazon light if he did this again, but also said "The Rigid Ignite I have are bright enough to aid the night vision while backing up without being too obnoxious to other vehicles."
Photo provided by @fonzie who has the rigid lights too.

The Kawell lights are 1000lumens, 1A draw, 60 degree pattern as well
$41 on amazon no plate
https://www.amazon.com/KAWELL-Flood...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=7PDSYSK6QKD8ZEZQKNMY

The EBESTauto are a CLAIMED 2400Lumen/bulb and 120degree pattern and are the cheapest at $32 for the pair on amazon. no plate, IP67 RATED

@AJ-MJ has these and said, "I can say, I back into my driveway several hundred feet at night. I also have used then in the woods to back up to avoid trees etc. They have worked for me so far. Personally, I cannot justify the more expensive LEDs at this point."

Other than Salsadoc, do any of you other guys have at night photos of how much light they shine onto objects so I can add them to this post? Also what's that guy on facebook that's making his own brackets for big cubes from Rigid? I'll add him to this post too. Kind of a brief summary of options thus far.

One thing that is puzzling is the vizionx kit says it has 2 dura mini lights with 2,000 raw lumens, but only 950 effective lumens, with a wattage of 12 and amperage of 1.

So these apparently put out the same lumens as both the Rigid Ignight and Kawell's.

The cheapest EBESTauto ones claim 2400lumens/bulb, but I doubt that, even at 20W/ light, that would only be about 66% more power than the other 2, but double the light.......

So what does that all mean? NO FRICKEN CLUE.....they probably all put out about the same light. I'd love to do a back to back to back to back test, but i'm not sponsored by any of them, or anybody for that matter.

Just some observations from little ole' me.

No reflector or lens is 100% efficient at reflecting/transmitting light, so the raw lumens would be the amount of light emitted by the diodes with in the light fixture, while the effective lumens would be the amount of light that leaves the light fixture. The efficiency of the reflector/lens combination in the Vizion X lights is not very good, as only 47.5% of the light emitted by the diodes makes it out of the fixture.

Did this help your backup camera any? The license plate lights appear to blind the camera. maybe these help.

I watched 2-3 rigid ignight backup light JK wrangler reviews. Yours appears to throw out more light.

could be, but hard to tell if the 1000lumens figures by amazon and rigid are raw or effective lumens. I also remember seeing something that lumens don't mean jack and that Lux is the measure you should use.....but they don't show the lux.

Lux is the "density" of light: 1 lux=1 lumen per sq. meter. Think spot vs. flood.

Thx - I didn’t realize the harness went all the way to the engine bay. I don’t know why I thought It plugged into the trailer hitch. So you don’t have these on with reverse, just independently via the aux.

@steffen - great job consolidating all the different lights into one post. Additionally, another very important characteristic to consider is what level or degree of water intrusion each light is tested to (IP Code or International Protection Rating). As an example the EBESTauto lights have a IP 67 water proofing rating. Maybe you could add that to you your comparisons. I will try to get a night time picture as well.
