Not trying to minimize your story, but I cut my teeth wheeling a Samurai. So yeah I totally believe those assholes left you. Gotta be selective about who you trust on the trail. Glad it worked out for you.
If I’m understanding you right, you’re saying who cares what you bring on the trail. If you want to give it a shot, more power to you. I bet that samurai was a blast to figure out lines for. Very cool.

You learned an expensive lesson about wheeling with big groups, always remember it.
The only way to handle it is to be with a small group of your friends (wheeling pals) and if it gets bad peel off.
Also, always judge the group you are considering wheeling with by the size of their tires. If you are on 35's or 37's and the others are on 42's, reconsider.
Sorry it went South for you. Best of luck getting your truck patched up.

No question. There were plenty of nice people running huge tires. But your point is well taken. That was the point of my post. I’m not telling anyone else they shouldn’t wheel in big groups. Many I’m sure like that scene. But I’m done with it.

You don't leave a guy out in the wilderness like that, period. That's just common trail courtesy not to mention being a decent member of civil society. I've seen it in large groups of other car enthusiasts, too.

Sorry you have to take the truck out of commission. That blows.
Yeah we “blew” an entire day getting three rigs down and off the trail in February after only getting about 4km into the trail.

You don’t leave people behind on a trail, period.

Appreciate it. I filed my first car insurance claim since 2001. Thankfully it’s approved and not totaled, as I intend to keep it forever. And I was so close. I didn’t know I had that mouth self control.
Even the best of us can loose control , but extra kudos 👏 for being the man. Everyone here knows you , I think what you did for @ShadowsPapa just prior to going out there speaks Volumes and Volumes to your character.

I don’t deserve any credit for that. I just love wrenching, and wanted to see inside that garage. 😆

It was mentioned that Lite Brite was there. It will probably be on U tube if they were.

The lite brite pair was good people. Not sure they were filming when some of this went down. And my camera wasn’t recording audio.

I often began to feel like I was gonna be the hold up in my group. I pulled out before I found out 😄😏 They grew further than I had the time / money / resources for. I didnt want to be the dead weight on the trail.

Kinda funny. We all ran the local Jeep club for a year, and did so many trips together between 2018 and 2022.

Now everyone seems like strangers.

Lite Brite ges on some really impossible tracks. I have met them and they are really nice people. What was the name of that trail so I can avoid it.

I’m no better than anyone. I was seeing red. How I handled it was better than they deserved. Again, in my opinion. They were drinking and looking for a fight. Screw that noise.
Drinking on trail hurts everyone and the sport as a whole. Save the booze til the end of the day back at camp.

I consider the pace to be whatever the slowest Jeep is. And I don’t think that’s negative. Not at all.

Last stand. I’d go on it again with a small group. I’m convinced I’d get out unscathed.
