I know a friend of a friend who has JL, says the gladiator is not a real jeep, hates the hand waving to the point of flipping people off as his return wave, really really hates the Ducking and changed his grill to the angry scowl after market grill because he heard it was a way to send a message to others that he was not into the jeep culture. I never heard that before but he thinks its helping :) Whatever makes you happy... it always makes me smile every time I get a duck. I just don't keep more than a couple and I pass the others along.
Your friend should name his Jeep Massengill or Summers Eve. ?

I posted before about the a-hole who threaten to shoot me for ducking his JT a few months backs. That hasn't stop me from ducking other Jeeps. I'm hoping to see that a-hole again at the Brownsville Pa. Walmart parking lot so that I can duck his JT. Just to see his reaction.
You need to double duck him lol.

For a moment, I thought some stranger opened your door and placed it on the dash, which would enrage me. ....

Me too. after getting my first Jeep, and reading about Ducking, I picked up a bag of ducks. I figure smaller ones are best. The first time I placed one, was a modified Jeep beside me in a restaurant parking lot. I chose the empty space beside him just for this. Upon getting out, duck in hand, I realized I had no idea of what I was doing.....I just reached in the open window and placed it on the dash, then went inside. Came back out, and the Jeep was still there. I drove off not even thinking about it. I now think the door handle is best.

I personally never thought I would get into the whole Duck thing........I'm not 14 anymore and too cool for school.

I have embraced it. I look at it this way, if a fellow Jeeper took the time and energy to not only buy the ducks, but drop them on my Jeep(s) I'm going to rock em.

With all of the shit in life we have to contend with in life.........if a .50 cent duck makes someone day or or makes your day by a simple gesture........enjoy it.

I ducked my buddies JTM in his driveway one day when he was not paying attention. Later on that day he asked if I Duck'd him LOL. I said yeah, he laughed and said my daughter will love it when she gets home from school. At 44 now, life is all about the small things.......whether for you or someone else.

If you hate ducks....don't be a prick, drop it on another Jeep

I got my CAB in Mosul in 2005. I was a intel POG (lol) that rolled up more HVI/HVTs then 95% of the 11 Bang Bangs out there. Got my CAB in my birthday with a rad IED as a 240B gunner

I was only in the Army for two and a half years back in the 70s
so I had to look up some of these acronyms.
Here is my translation:

I got my Combat Action Badge
(equivalent of the CIB for non infantrymen) in Mosul in 2005.
I was a combat intelligence POG (a Person Other than a Grunt (infantrymen))
that rolled up more High Value Individuals / High Value Targets
than 95% of the 11 bang bangs out there.
(Slang for 11B or 11Bravo, the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) for infantrymen.)
Got my CAB on my birthday with a rad IED (Improvised Explosive Device)
as a 240B gunner. (The 240B is a belt-fed 7.62 (30 caliber) machine gun
that replaced the M60 machine gun. It is heavier, has a higher rate of fire
and is usually fired from a bipod or pedestal.)

Sir, are you saying that you were blown up on your birthday?
Thank you for your service.

I rainbow unicorned my boss's Bronco Raptor at work. All the Jeep owners in the parking lot got into it with putting unicorns on his Bronco each day for about 2 weeks. Some of the tags were hilarious. He was a good sport since he used to own a TJ.

My command submitted me for C.A.B. during a few of my deployments for multiple engagements. 03-04, 08-09 I declined them since I already have my C.I.B. during my last deployment it was submitted again by my command for multiple engagements. So I picked it up too (C.A.B) in 08, during that deployment I "bagged" numerous H.V.T's was told that I had been recommended for a bronze star then to get a ARCOM. ?
The 25 ID did take credit for them but since I was then a 31B3 with a messed up M.P. USAR unit I shouldn't expect much.
While most of the E-7's, all the E-8s and up were given them and a few SSG's that had multiple misconduct events during the deployment. It was really a kick in the nuts considering I had been recommended for bronze star with V device 2 twice during Desert Storm for different events but as a SPC 11B M-60 gunner. One of them events was why I didn't get my SGT too. but you can bet your a## that my PSG, 2 SQD leaders got them. Two of the SQD leaders in my platoon were the ones who recommended me for them. So with 7 different missions/ deployments to SWA I ended up with 5 AAM's, 2 ARCOMS and the salad bowl of you were here ribbons. Note to non Army the AAM isn't awarded for combat service even by regulation. I will say that when I was awarded my C.I.B. my uniform was stained with the reason I was awarded it... that was at close distance.
As I've posted on some other threads my filters are becoming less. And as I'm typing this out I was earlier enjoying some good Kentucky bourbon. Merry Christmas to all.

Much respect to those of you who served. I didn't but wanted to and couldn't but I don't regret it- it would have changed my trajectory. I'd have never met the woman I love and earned the scars I did otherwise.

As for ducks, it brings a smile, it isn't harmful, and Is silly. There are some that take it too far but it's all in good fun. Don't like it? Pass it along or toss it.

Thank you, Blade1668, for sharing your experience.
A Vietnam veteran friend of mine told me
that he had been advised
that for his mental and emotional health
it was better to talk about the war
than to keep it bottled up inside.

Enjoy your bourbon, my friend.
You have certainly earned it.
