Thanks to Jeepvana on youtube he found a way to remotely disconnect the battery to hopefully prevent a fire happening when jeep is parked since they say the power steering pump gets constant power even when vehicle is off. You can get it on amazon. It comes with 2 remote fobs so once connected to negative terminal you can disconnect the battery with the push of a button. I did order one as I have no way to park away from other vehicles where I live and work. Its not expensive so couldn't hurt I think.

I would also like to know more about this device. Furthermore, what impact would it have on my warranty?

The pump draws zero load when not in use. A fire due to a short or resistance while park is very unlikely.

Then what is the recall based on?

Based on high resistance due to possible bad connection at the pump connector. No loads, no worries.

It could start a fire when starting and operating the pump, hence why Jeep said to park outside.

Or after parking if the overheating happened during your commute. The wire is hot 24/7, so if the insulation got compromised during a load state and then it's shut off it can still short out and cause a fire. That's what some of the stories on here have been.

To the OP, I know someone who has one of these on another vehicle and likes it. That being said, the quality seems to be not the best and with those dissimilar metals on the battery it may lead to some corrosion on the terminals.

Worth a shot though

I'd measure the current draw with a meter when it's "locked out" as the RF system draws power. If you let your battery sit for days at a time, I could see this being an issue for some people.

I have a FOB system on my dual sport motorcycle, you walk up and it enables the electrical, walk away and after several seconds it kills everything. But after a week of not riding it and not being on a maintainer, the voltage dropped enough to require SEVERAL kick starts to bring voltage up enough to actually start it with the kick start. And it only draws 150Ma in the "off" state, this was with a fully charged new battery.

Granted the Jeep has a MUCH bigger capacity. Just food for thought.
