That's an interesting thought. It would be higher, but the heater comes with a pump. I'm wondering if there's a way to install a tube in or near the fill spout without messing anything up?? Thanks!Well, I've seen your post for the last several days without a response. I think it would depend if your heater was higher than or lower than your diesel level. If lower you could just put a hose into your fill spout and start a siphon to see if it works.
Good luck.
Great tip! Thanks! If you tap into the tank. Don't tap below the 1/4 full line. This way you won't empty the tank leaving you stuck somewhere. All motorhomes with generators are like this. When the fuel gets to the 1/4 full mark. The generator can no longer get fuel and shuts off. Leaving you with enough fuel to go someplace and refill the fuel tank.
Really like this idea. Thanks for the reply!I would remove the fuel neck and have a 3/8 or 1/4 barb welded on, at a 45 degree angle. Use a submersible fuel line down into the tank and use another external fuel line to the heater pump.
Welded down far enough to avoid hitting the pump nozzle when filling.
