Is there a setting to make the backup camera fill up the screen? In my wife's JL the backup camera fills up the entire 7" screen. In my Gladiator it just fills up about 5" on the screen. I do have a tow package on my Gladiator and no tow package on the JL.

I have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator. It has the 8.4 inch screen but by backup camera fills up the entire screen. I also had the tow package. Maybe a setting you can adjust?

No setting, it's always been that way.

Do you have the trail cam system? I just swapped mine out and it appears the trail cam has a wider angle. I’ll take a look next time if it now fills up the screen.

If it looks like this, it's normal:

I don't have the trail cam system but I will have to look again tomorrow and see if it actually fills up the whole screen. To be honest, I never really paid attention but it seems like a fairly large image. Looking at the picture above now I am second guessing if it goes all the way to the edges. I think maybe the 8.4 screen, you don't notice it as much but I'll check tomorrow.

Yeah, I don’t recall prior to my trail cam install, but it’s definitely full screen now. Will be curious as to what you notice.

Okay, after reading the thread again, I believe this might be an aspect ratio issue with true 7”. It looks like the 7 and 8.4 are the same width and the 8.4 adds the additional size all in the vertical measurement. No difference in the usable screen until you put it in R. When you do, the 8.4 drops the soft buttons and uses the entire screen. If that’s true, the 7” will be cropped to size.

Confirmed. The backup camera fills the entire 8.4 screen.

It's be nice if there was overscan like the rearview mirror cams. I would scroll pan up and just crop the top of the bumper.

Ok, but wait. Why does it not fit the 7” screen in a gladiator BUT it DOES for the 7” screen in a JL. Again my JL does not have the tow package and my gladiator does. So if it’s an aspect ration as to why it doesn’t fill the 7” screen then that should apply to both the Gladiator and the Wrangler. Right, or am I missing something?

The difference would likely be in the cameras. I doubt that the JL and JT use the same rear camera.

The JL rear camera is closer to the screen, so it just seems bigger…
