Which bed rack is that one?

Its the Rebel Offroad full height rack. I love it, its been a great addition while I wait for the RSI Smartcap. I've actually considered keeping it and not moving to a topper bc I like it so much, but I think the advantages of the canopy will still be worth it.

Anyone ever mount the rack on the cross rails? I'd like to see a photo if possible.

I ended up buying the KB Voodoo crossbar system and Yakima High Roads bike racks. The crossbars are too wide for the straps that come on the High Roads. I need to find another solution.

Had an idea for a light low profile single bike carrier. I’ve installed my Thule T1 two bike on the front hitch. With two bikes, it sits a good 3 1/2 forward And a little too high. (Pic with the Trek)

I tried this tonight. Needs adjusting but I think it may work. Bike sits tight and much lower.

Having the rack up front gives plenty of clear access to the bed.

Thoughts?

I made my own out of old repurposed and cut ladder rack, 3/4 plywood with textured decking paint, and my Yakima bike rack accessories I’ve had for years.

$6 Harbor Freight moving blanket! Also have RockyMounts on the bed rails (can see in the background), but only use them if I need to lock the bike.

I’m thinking about moving my axle mounts to the sides and mounting the bikes across the bed to make it easier to get to the axles when loading and unloading.

Nice clean setup. Wheel off racks provide even more clearance for view. I have too many fork types. Unfortunately, Wheel on is the way to go for me.

I am going to end up welding a nut in 6 places on the bottom of the Voodoo crossbars. The bike racks have a bolt hole in them. So I can bolt down through the rack and into the welded nut. This is the easiest, quickest solution I could come up with.

Picking our Gladiator up next week. This is the rack I used in my old mini van. Seems like I can adapt it for use in the bed.

I welded up a bracket that clamps to the bed rail and attaches to the rack for stability.

I wondered if you had it attached to the rack as well as the bed. I made one also just for the bed rail and the bed flexed too much.

I went through a few different designs before finalizing this one. I have too many thru axle sizes, so I don't like taking off my front wheel. KB Voodoo Rack. I made custom brackets to hold Rocky Mounts Monorail hitch trays.
