Q2 2020 sales figures are in and the Gladiator racked up 19,568 units sold in the US, a jump of 28.2% over Q1 sales and a huge 174% increase from Q2 2019 sales!

It's now virtually tied for third place within the midsize pickup segment and trailed the Colorado by only 275 units. If the sales trend continues, it should easily outsell the Colorado in Q3.

Its not really that close when you combine Colorado and Canyon Sales. They combine for 25,068, which is actually second place. Beat out the Ranger by 60 trucks lol.

The Tacoma blows them all out of the water. The Frontier is just ridiculously dated at this point. I loved my 2009 Frontier, but its basically the same truck now (I think they finally put a new drivetrain in the 2020s). New model I think comes out for 2021. If GM built more Canyons and had a better dealership network, their sales would be more even with the Colorado. My 2017 Canyon All Terrain had the same MSRP as my father's 2017 Colorado with the same options and mine was a better looking truck with a nicer interior.

Yeah, no doubt Taco sales will dominate. Those trucks have such an imbedded reputation they sell themselves just by the name. So, although the Taco is certainly a good truck, number one in sales doesn't mean it's the best midsize truck. It means that's the truck people want because they've heard it's a good truck or because they've owned one before and liked it.

I personally believe that the Tacoma is NOT the best truck. (Coming from a Tacoma owner.)

Its not the best mid sized truck. I was planning on buying one until I test drove it. I ended up buying my last truck instead, 2017 GMC Canyon All Terrain. The Canyon drove great, considerably better than the Tacoma, was way more comfortable, had a way better infotainment system, and looks way better and has a nicer interior.

By all practical measures, my Canyon was a better truck than my Gladiator. It did literally everything better. The Gladiator has an X factor, I just like it more. The Gladiator was considerably more expensive too. lol Somehow I don't regret getting the Gladiator.... Maybe I have lost my mind haha

My work-issue truck is a 2017 Taco Prerunner 4cyl... I wouldn’t give them $500 for this POFS. The engine has no power and can’t even get out of its own way, the transmission hunts more than Ted Nugent, It averages 13 MPG’s, and the traction control cuts the RPM’s and lags the low-end response... WTF!!!

I’ve had to drive this truck for about a year, and put nearly 40,000 miles on it...Trust me, I’m intimately familiar with this runover piece of crusty white dog shit.

The Tacoma is also a ridiculously dated truck with a very mild refresh it’s otherwise nearly 15 years into this cycle...

Wooo!!!! The JT is the most misunderstood and under-rated truck in America. Good to see that sales are finally catching up to where they ought to be.

I had to get rid of my 2019 Tacoma TRDPro, could not stand the drivetrain, interior felt way too cramped, flimsy exterior plastic parts. Really enjoying Gladiator, hopefully it will be reliable!

I still want them to be rather low because it is always a treat seeing one
As much as I'd like to see more JTs sold, it's fun to have such a cool and still somewhat unique truck. the good thing is we can customize our trucks more than any other which keeps them unique.

Mostly because Wranglers don't have beds for racks and the larger tents they can accomodate

Over the last couple of weeks I have seen more than one 2020JT per day, so it's happening. Jeep did what they wanted with this rollout, and it worked. My comments are they could have sold as many as they wanted in the cheap seats instead of servicing the luxury boxes, a hot being a hot dog, and not a steak sammich. Hats off to Jeep, after all..

Definitely seeing more JT around the beaches. Average seeing about 5-7 a day. Seems white is most popular color going by sightings. Nice to see a few towing trailers.
