First off I wanted to say "what's up y'all!" I purchased a 21 Jeep Gladiator Sport this past summer and am a new Jeep owner; I have to say it was the purchase I have ever made. This is also my first post here and I am stoked to be on this forum.

So far I have added a 2.5in level but am putting on a 3.5in full suspension lift this weekend. I am running 35s as well and I have been toying with the idea of a regear in the next year. I am new to the Jeep game and wanted to get opinions from those who have done this already or may have some insight. I know the Rubicon comes with 4.10 gears but I was thinking 4.56 or 4.88 gears for my setup.

Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First, welcome to the forum and good luck with your 2021 Sport!

There are many threads on this topic but I think you will find a general summary to be:
1. The 2.5” lift is enough for the 35’s, although a full suspension 2.5 is better than a spacer 2.5 lift generally speaking
2. If you put on a 3.5” lift you may not be happy with the 35’s and want to go to a 37 or 40 pretty quickly (how you will use your Jeep is a big factor here)
3. Most people will likely advise the 4.56 gears for 35’s but again, that choice is driven by a number of additional factors
4. Bigger than 35’s you will probably be happier with 4.88

Thanks! I plan on getting 37s for my next set of tires, so I will probably regear to 4.88 just to be proactive.

In that case, I would definitely do the 4.88 now, or even consider the 5.13, unless you do a lot of daily driving on the highway. If its rare for you to go over 65mph, 5.13. With the 5.13 and even just the 35s, you'll be at a reasonable RPM up to about 65 MPH, but the torque will be far better off road.

I went with 4.88 on my Willy`s (Automatic on 35s and 3.5" lift) and dont regret it one bit. You may also want to consider weight on your vehicle - I have a lot of steel bolted on, bumpers, roll bar, steps, skids, etc etc. I had been planning 4.56, but considering the extra weight in addition to the wheels, I geared a little higher, and its worked out well for me.

will mirror previous posts. 4.56 with 35's is in the low good range while 4.88 is in the solid good range. That changes when you go up to 37's so 4.88's will be the low good range and 5.13 will be the solid good range. I ran 4.56's on 35's in the Overland and it was good all around gear. Depending on when you are goin to the 37's, 4.88's would be one and done to still have some decent highway speed.
