I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head. I travel a lot with my Jeep and trailer and sometimes just need a place to park for the night traveling to my destination. Someplace safe and secure because Walmart and rest areas can be sketchy and I’m not always near a campground. Since I Just Empty Every Pocket with this thing, it would be nice to have a network of enthusiasts with yards to accommodate a fellow Jeeper on his travels to save some cash on accommodations. Full hookup, electric or no hook up at all with just space to rest and share experiences with our rigs.

Would be great to meet more of our forum on our own turf and offer a nice place to stay and even show off the area and what it may offer by recreation. Campfires ? with those who share your interests while traveling cross county would be cool. My place for example has fishing, hiking, kayaking, lighthouses and wonderful beaches. I would most certainly offer space on my property for a traveler for overnight with a camper Or rooftop tent. Like a network for camping like the marketplace. I meet cool people on the marketplace.

I'm curious what you think?
Look up bunk a biker on FB. Same concept but it's for travelers on motorcycles. I'm sure the people would not mind if it was a jeep.

I get where @Summitsearcher is coming from being in the north east. It's illegal to do anything up here, but not to have a new friend hang out for the night. Maybe technically in their camper in the driveway, but who would know!? I'd welcome the company, The wife probably wouldn't and my driveway's a bit small. ;) Maybe one day I'll own land and I'll add my name to the app you're going to make all by yourself.
I just thought it was cool idea to help the community out. Seems like more people are uncomfortable with the concept this day and age. Makes no sense to me seeing most of us camp together in Moab or other locations so it seemed like a workable solution. I tried!

I'd offer up my place. It could fit 1 or 2 spots (tent or small camper/trailer). in VT I have 19 ish acres of woods. Near a state park with 25K acres, Full of hiking trails easy ones or hard ones. Currently behind a livestock gate and barbed wire. Mostly unlevel :) but access to my land can be had with truck for those less mobile. All I'd ask is reciprocation be it your driveway/backyard/ or info on a nice spot in your loved area. No money, Maybe some chat around a bonfire, or camp fire, adult drinks would be ok, but no rowdiness nor drunkenness. Nobody would bother you except the Milk semi's , Its right on a state route. easy in easy out.

I don't have anything cool near by but I do have 2.5 acres just off US 30 in NW Ohio that if anyone wants to stop/camp for a day or so I have a large garage lots of jeeps and a hot tub and a pretty badass fire ring...could definitely get you some electric from garage if needed! Usually drinks in garage fridge as well as extra bathroom in house ! Really like this idea too!

I'd add I'd do this anyhow. Ass long as I am around. Hit me up. I am normally around and this summer we have no big vacations scheduled. I'm always up for making new friends who Overland, camp, love the freedom of camping, and just plain good folks.

Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts. One small yearly fee and you get access to a lot of fun and diff places to stay especially if you have kids. Most have to be self contained. Im not part of BW but have been a member of HH for about 4 years.

It’s a great idea, and it’s coming to life. Well done, and thanks.

Never been to Iowa. Looks wonderful!
Not alot here to be honest the less hills are kind need, looks,of small towns with cool dive bars. The Harley guys are riding the back roads all summer. It is a really nice place to camp and hang out. Very clean water, can see yourtoes when floating. Not a destination place for most but if someone needs a place to crash, it is a very nice place. 3 miles west of Mapleton Iowa. But for a guy like summitsearcher it is a good place to stop. For insurance reasons we can not take money, but will be more than happy to drink some of your beer and whisky.

My brother and myself own a a 164 acre farm with a pond, in the Loess hills in west central Iowa. Very private and gated. Full hookups and great fishing.
