Great pictures, thank you!
Man that looks like just the right amount outside the fender. I’m getting the rubicon so the fenders are higher but I believe they are essentially the same distance out. From my understanding the max tow has that tiny extra big of trim flair you see around lip of wheel well. I’ve never seen any measurements to confirm though.

Do you have a head on shot from the front?
My wife's gladiator is not the Max tow and yes I measured the fenders. Mine with Max tow are an inch wider.

20x10 -24 offset 4.56” backspacing with 37x13.50’s... Only sticks out a couple inches. I was surprised and happy with the outcome.

i have a sport s 6-speed so the narrow axles, and narrow fenders to suit, those max tow fenders look a lot like the rubicons wider fenders, at the least the rears do, i have run 37x12.50's on the stock sport s wheels, and to eliminate control arm rub at lock i've added 12mm spacers and then had to put 4-5 washers under the steering stops...so effectively i'm at +32mm offset (5.6" bs) and had to deal with the steering stops...i can see why the mopar wheels run 5.2" back space...for 35's on stock wheels i'd like get away with one or the other, just the 12mm spacers, or just adjust the steering stops

the rubicons/max-tows have the half" head start to begin width with the wider axles

as it stands, i love my 'tall skinny' stance, i have only the sidewalls poking, the very out edge of the tread on my falken mt's just meets the edge at the top of the fender and now i don't spray muck in the windows or all down the side of the truck every puddle i hit, i ran 35's on 4.5" back space wheels to start and switching to what i am doing now will pay for itself in car wash savings ;)

hope that info helps some peeps, stay positive my friends....positive offset that is ;)

Not sure if you’re referencing mine, but mine is a Rubicon, not a Max Tow.

This looks like a good combination. What is the tire size in this pic? Is it a 315/70-17?

A -32 offset, 9” wide wheel is 3.75” of backspacing. A -32 offset, 8” wide wheel is 3.25” of backspacing. A -32 offset on a 12” wide wheel is 5.25” of backspacing. Quite a bit of difference in how far the tire will stick out. Not the same. Backspacing is what matters, but, like the other guy, not looking to argue. Not had enough coffee yet.

ok so am I using this correctly when comparing the stock 7" +44 is at 5.75". 7 - 5.75 leaves 1.25 lip side.

The wheel I am looking at is 9" -8. That's going to be like 4.75" backspace leaving 4.25" lip side. The difference is +3" outward. Correct?

And another wheel I am looking at is 8" and also 4.75" backspace. So it is 3.25" lip side of +2" outward.

then the tire itself going from stock 255/70 to a 35 12.5 gains 2.5", or 1.25" each side. With the second wheel the net is +3.25" more poke than stock. Is that it?

So what wheel would allow the tire to have minimal poking of my 35x12.5x17 tires outside the Rubicon fender flares? My current setup is perfect on the factory wheels but I am starting to wonder how much weight the “excess wear” has on the tires from being on factory rims. I would essentially be wanting 9.5” wide wheels and +5.5 to +6 backspacing?

Not interested in a forum argument so I’ll just say this and move along. I sold wheels for a premium wheel manufacturer for many years. Every order was custom and fitment had to be verified through me. I’m a wheel expert and I’m telling you in terms of fitment, offset and width are directly tied. A -32 8” wheel is completely different than a -32 9” wheel in terms of where the wheel fits against the fender, suspension and brake clearance. With that, you can’t ask a question like “which offset fits xxxxx car?” without tying it to a specific wheel width.
Hello, I see this is an old thread, I'm trying to find what the stock offset and back space are on the JTR wheel. Couldn't find it in a search.
Thanks!

Stock offset for the Rubicon and Sport S aluminum wheels is +44.4mm. Mojave wheels have less offset -- I think they're about +36mm
