This is a 2" AEV lift on my Mojave (which is already taller than the sport model but I'm not sure how it compares to the High Altitude). This is with the stock 33s.

Hi there everyone. I looked around on the forums but couldn't find my question. I'm looking at a jks 3" j kontrol lift. I currently have 33's on my stock 20" rims just bought the tires. So my real question is how would it look with the lift and 33's. I have a feeling they will look really small but don't want to buy another set of tires. Once these run out I would run 35's. Any pictures or suggestions are welcomed

Not exactly same dimensions, but something to use as a comparison.

Does it see anything but pavement?
It will mostly run in sand on the beach. There are a few trails near me but don't want to scratch up my paint right now . Maybe down the road I will but not at this time

I have the high altitude so the front fenders aren't as high as the rubicon or Mojave. I'm pretty convinced I'm going to move forward with the kit and rock the 33's for now.

That looks really good. I'm digging those retro type wheels. Perfect color combo with the machined wheels and black paint.
Thanks! I started with the same brand tires (Mickey Thompson) on the black factory wheels but liked the polished aluminum American Racing wheels to break up the black just a little. Pretty expensive to change my mind but I sold the first set to get a break on the cost of these.

Ok every one. If I don't really go off road but on the beach do I really need a full lift kit or do you think I could get a way with a spacer lift? I'm really confused since I only have 33's and at the most run a 35".

Since 33’s fit stock you don’t need a lift to do that. IMHO If you want 35’s then just do a spacer lift and save the $$

Here is an S with a Mopar and 33’s just for another reference. Ended up with 35’s and regeared with 4.56.

3yrs later i traded it in for a JTR put a 1” teraflex spacer in the front and left it stock otherwise… done, LOL.

1) If your end goal is to run 35" tires its cheaper to buy a set of Rubicon fender take-offs than a lift kit. 100% same results.

2) You dont need a lift or 35" tires to drive on the beach.

3) If you like the lifted look, go for it! Plenty of lifted Jeeps never see anything but pavement. Who cares if the tires look small in the short term. You could also buy the lift and just not have it installed until youre ready for the tires. Scratch the itch now and have it on hand, ready to go when you buy tires.

4) Who cares what anyone else thinks about how your Jeep looks. IMHO the lift and 33"s looks fine.

So if I go spacer what brand is the best Terraflex,AVE,or anything that has a name brand. My thinking is that if a big name brand makes them they can't all be bad

If you want to stay on 33s I'd do the teraflex as it's the most minimal. You can do a good amount with a spacer lift and will be fine on the beach. If you want to go up in size just ride those tires out and do both at once.

So I just ordered the JKS j-kontrol kit with fox shocks. Guess we will see when I get here and installed.

3.5 metal cloak with AEV high capacity springs/fox 3.5 adjustable remote reservoir shocks on 35” Falken Wildpeak tires.

works great so long as it has weight in the back.

we typically carry a lot onboard and tow frequently…. however, the ride is terrible if it is unloaded — these springs are hard as dirt.
