Holy C@#% that was nerve wracking. I just sent my approval to Kent at Peterson for my Gobi order.

I am going super basic so I have more money for upgrades and the probably unrealistic hope to have a fast build. I know Gobi builds haven't started yet, but I hope it will be soon. If mine was the tipping point for Jeep to start, you're welcome (and sorry for taking so long).

Well if all of these Gobi builds arrive in Idaho at the same time all of us Californians should just charter a plane up there. Would be a lot cheaper and with a charter your allowed hookers and blow. And to partake of adult beverages.
I personally think a convoy of Gobi Gladiators rolling down the 15 from Idaho to California would look pretty cool. Though some of us are way too familiar with desert colored vehicle convoys!?

Luckily (unluckily?) I was stationed at MCAS Miramar as an aircraft electrician so only military color I got to see all day was grey.

However, I was a go to for rifle range coach since I was the only one that seemed to be able to get the pilots to pass qual (most of the time as expert). So I did get to pretend to be covered in dirt at Pendleton a week at a time.

Now if Jeep came out with a matte grey I would be all over that in a heart beat.

Go to This Tread to build and see actual cost. MSRP is suggested retail price. FWP (factory wholesale price) is the price that the dealer, and TL give you the % off of.
With the right dealer you can save a couple grand up to $10-12K off of your build price.

What Ace is getting at is that you could probably get a lot more off. There is a page that links the order guides that list MSRP and Invoice costs you should take a look at.

MSRP		$50,545.00
Invoice		$48,425.00
% Below Invoice	8%	$44,551.00

So you could be saving up $6k off MSRP or $4k off invoice with the Tread Lightly affiliate pricing and ordering from the right dealer.

3% off isn't terrible these days. Especially if there are no dealer ads. $50k MSRP probably has an invoice around $48.2k I would guess. Folks are paying MSRP these days and are happy with it. Tread Lightly is still a better deal. Not a terrible amount I would venture, but still a better deal. Dealers are making money selling at invoice. Even more if there's dealer cash or other incentives from FCA. Or hitting volume goals.

The way I heard it recently, dealers are selling less cars and making more money. Damnable supply and demand.

I am not sure about Gupton, but I just got a little under 8% at Peterson in Idaho today. I am willing to bet it will based on the build and the likelihood of the dealer being able to sell if the deal falls through after delivery. If you are ordering something outside of the norm, then the discount may be less.

Hell use your connections and get us a MAC flight up to Boise. Think of what all we could do to our Jeeps with the money saved.?
Guess I could go down the road here to Leemore NAS and see if them Blue Angels fellers could drop me off!?

While we're at it, I always wanted to supply drop something. Maybe a Gobi Gladiator Sport S in my backyard? Save on some mileage... Although the drive from Idaho to California would be a great way to maintain a good stable break-in.

It is a bit of a hump, but to save an extra $3-5k would it be worth the 2 day drive? Early am flight and could be on the road before lunch most likely.

For just a half percent difference at the time it made more sense for me to purchase in Idaho.

i am in MN so that would be a long drive back. Also i am doing it as a joint loan with my wife so both of us would need to fly there and get the time off when she is currently 8 months pregnant so there's no way i am getting a vehicle from them.
