Gobi Gladiators Waiting Room

I ordered 4/6. Jeep Chat told me it has been scheduled for production but no other dates were available on the order yet and to check back next week.

Better than nothing I guess.

How do you know if it is D or D1 or get a shipping ETA? This is what I got from Jeep Chat:

I didn't order the factory bed liner as I plan to do a Monstaliner DIY liner. I used this stuff a few years ago on a Vanagon Westfalia rebuild (pulled out the carpet and lined the entire interior with a dark brown.

Fast forward to this eternal Gobi waiting game, I want to use this product again but I am conflicted if I want to match the liner to the Gobi or do a contrast color. Their website lets you request color samples and I received them today.

The top right sample is really looking pink in these pics, though with a name like Yank My Doodle, its bound to get pink after a while, but I actually think it is the closest to matching Gobi.

Any thoughts? ….. Yeah, what is the cost and pros / cons of this product? I’m admittedly suspicious of the consumer market products basket compared to the pro line, but I’d certainly be open to hearing your experience before I judge.

Depends what position they're in. I'm driving a gladiator now, so I'm reasonably patient for my gobi mojave manual. But not overly patient, because this willys automatic i have now (long story) was not my choice at all. I can't install armorlite, my new walmart special "everyone's got em" 315/70 kenda klevers, my new rims, and i can't order my katzkin leather. My wife may be understanding in theory, but when the tires and rims show up and she wants to know where i'm gonna put em things are gonna start getting tense.

Ordered 4/19, got VON while still at dealer and vin 4 days later. Dealer called today saying it just went into D1 status with a tentative ship date of 5/18. Fingers crossed. Gobi Mojave with bed liner and quite a few option.

As I mentioned in the first post, I pulled the smelly carpet out of a 1982 VW Vanagon Westfalia, (pulled the entire interior out, cabinets, appliances, seats, etc.) and used this product. It is a DIY prep & install, but it's not that difficult. They claim the colors are UV resistant and filler additives are not used. I was happy with the end result, though I purchased 2 gallon and could have gotten away with only one gallon.

Fast forward 10 years, and I am certain 1 gallon will be enough to thoroughly coat the Gladiator bed and tailgate. I love the idea of it being color matched or doing a contrast color. The one gallon kit, with color additive, and an install kit will be a little under $200.

I wish I had a pic of the westfalia interior when it was done.

I think the contrast will look great too. Whether it's Spice or OD Green. If I can't get a near-perfect Gobi match, I'll probably pick the contrast color. Thanks.

I ordered 4/8 from Gupton. I checked Jeep chat this morning and the wording has changed since last Monday from:

"...your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process."

to:

"I am showing your vehicle has been scheduled for production. The vehicle should be entering the build process shortly. I'd recommend contacting back in three to four weeks for a new update check."

Not exactly sure if that means D1, but I’m getting very impatient haha I’m hoping to get it before June, but I’m not holding my breath.
