Gobi Gladiators Waiting Room

I ordered 4/8 from Gupton. I checked Jeep chat this morning and the wording has changed since last Monday from:

"...your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process."

to:

"I am showing your vehicle has been scheduled for production. The vehicle should be entering the build process shortly. I'd recommend contacting back in three to four weeks for a new update check."

Not exactly sure if that means D1, but I’m getting very impatient haha I’m hoping to get it before June, but I’m not holding my breath.

Mine said the same thing when I checked with Jeep chat last week(the check back in 3-4 weeks). Dealer called me today and said it had entered D1 and had a tentative ship date of 5/18. Yours might very well be doing the same thing.

Depends what position they're in. I'm driving a gladiator now, so I'm reasonably patient for my gobi mojave manual. But not overly patient, because this willys automatic i have now (long story) was not my choice at all. I can't install armorlite, my new walmart special "everyone's got em" 315/70 kenda klevers, my new rims, and i can't order my katzkin leather. My wife may be understanding in theory, but when the tires and rims show up and she wants to know where i'm gonna put em things are gonna start getting tense.

We're in a similar situation. Have a Mojave now. LOVE IT. But it doesn't have 2 things I really wanted. Leather and Diesel. Can add leather, diesel not so much. And considering ya can't get diesel in a Mojave... I was torn, but decided to pull the trigger on a Gobi anyway. My gf just shakes her head when anything Jeep comes up these days!

For those of you outside of Texas, I'm sorry. The Texas Trail is an awesome package standard with leather and other items. Made it easier to give up my Mojave. Looks like there's a California Edition, but it doesn't compare. Point being, it's a lot easier for me to wait! In fact, I don't want it here too soon. Recently paid down a large amount of debt, and want to make sure it all reports accurately before applying for another loan. Some of you have reported similar order dates, with delivery before the end of May! I'm hoping for mid June just to be safe!

Check with a non-dummy at your dealer to confirm, but as I understand, the deliver date is really the rail yard deliver date. So, depending on the logistics of a delivery truck, it may take a week or more for that to hit. Also, i thought I once read that you have something like 2 weeks to accept deliver at the dealer. Again, confirm on your end, but that may help your position.

I just saw this thread. We welcome all of you new Gobis to the fold. Although now we aren't so exclusive lol. I had a short period where I seriously considered trading for Gecko but I am still as happy 2 1/2 years later with my Gobi.

I can't speak for everyone but I don't mind. When I heard that they were stopping Gobi the first time I just thought that if someone crashed into me and totaled my Jeep, I couldn't replace it. It still will be a pretty small section of sales as it isn't for everyone.

true… funny thing is i have a neighbor a block away that has a gobi Rubi. I havent met the guy, but I wonder what he’l think when he sees mine. lol. I feel like the wranglers/gladiators are well suited for “camo” colors.

Got confirmation from the dealer (Gupton) that I'm in D1 scheduled to ship on 5/16! Ordered on 4/8

My dealer told me yesterday my estimated ship date is 5/16 as well. Seems all the Gobi's are shipping on the 16th! He also said expect it to take until early June for it to arrive at their dealership.
