I think everyone here knows that Gladiators and Wranglers love to play catch-the-rock with the windshield, which ultimately results in cracked windshields. I just got my 2025 Gladiator Sport in November 2025 and I already have 4 cracks on my windshield. I’m surprised I haven’t been arrested for possession of crack (okay, bad joke). Seriously, I’ve heard of gorilla glass windshields. Does anyone have any experience with it on their Jeeps? How does it affect performance, if at all? Does it resist rocks? Finally, is it worth the investment?

Yes they suck… BAD! I can’t believe Jeep is still peddling them as an upgrade. On my last gladiator it took less than a few weeks for a small pebble to crack the Gorilla glass windshield and then both Jeep and Mopar refused to honor the warranty. Tried to contact the maker and :crickets:…

Both my ‘22 Overland and my ‘26 Mojave X came with it from the factory and in both cases after 3,000 miles they looked like a windshield that had been on a car for 50k miles. Totally full of mini pockmarks from God only knows what, probably bug strikes.

Did I mention Gorilla glass windshields are absolute shit?!?!? Worse I’ve ever had on any car including 3 previous Jeeps before the JTs.

I don’t have Gorilla glass, but I’ve replaced my windshield 4 times (21 Gladiator). The most recent in June 26. I asked the local glass company, not safelite. If gorilla was worth it. He said pretty much the same Wambliska “overpriced and overhyped”. They also said when it takes a hit it is actually worse than regular screens. It won’t crack but the impact marks are way bigger. That’s what that said not me.

Mine came from the factory with Gorilla Glass. I bought it with a Fuyao branded one at 29xxx miles. Guess the previous owner heard the GG is BS, too.

I have windshield coverage via State Farm. If I call them with a chip they send a tech out to fill it. If it can't be filled or cracks and needs to be replaced I pay $150 deductible. I've done multiples on the BMW, her Bronquito and will probably do one on the Jeep either during or immediately after winter.

Both of ours have come with gorilla glass. I feel in my situation they are not worth the money. Mine both came with the glass already installed so it’s not like I ordered them specifically. But knowing what I know now I sure as heck wouldn’t spend the money.

I have the GPW laminate on my windshield and have had many rocks, branches, etc, hit it with not even as much as a pit in my windshield. Just putting it out there.

My Gorilla glass windshield lasted about 60,000 miles since 2022. Had a bunch of small stone chips. Then had one stone that hit just right. Safe Right replaced it with one of theirs. Got State Farm with a $500 reductable. Had to pay $570 total.

And I'm suddenly and immensely glad that I get two free OEM windshield replacements per year through my insurance, here in Alaska.

It doesn't even require me to pay a deductible, as it is written directly into the quote from the beginning.

That being said, I have insured this thing to the maximum possible coverage, plus some.

Do you have a link to this dark magic you speak of? Asking for a friend.

Do all you guys drive in a rock quarry? Never had any issues with any windshield on any vehicle I ever owned. My current jeep came with gorilla glass. No issues so far.

It's the near-vertical design of the windscreen. The slipstream (or lack thereof) of our rolling bricks causes them to thwack the windshield harder than most other vehicles that would otherwise carry them over. The Bronco and Bronco Sport have similar issues.

In fact, her Bronquito had the windshield replaced after 4-5 months of buying it new. And its already had one replaced since then. DC Beltway commuting beats the snot out of cars.

Another reason to help push the manufacture to stop forcing that forward facing device setup on the sport s and higher trims (since 2024). Combine that with gorilla glass make this a very expensive repair for no reason. They need to do better
