That sometimes works, but I have a feeling in Iowa, where these aren't popular, I'd have real trouble selling mine for $2,000 more to offset the taxes. So I have to sit and figure if it's still worth it to trade. IF they offer me 42 and I could sell for 44 - I'd take their 42 because of the tax and the pain in the butt trying to sell here in Iowa. Tire kickers, "will you deliver it", "I'll give you 30", that sort of bunk. Iowa isn't a haven for small trucks like Gladiator. If it was a full size truck I could probably sell it today - farm country and all.I had the same basic issue. I didn’t trust any deal made for an order at any in-state dealer (MSRP or above), and I also didn’t trust that any offer they made on my trade would be honored when the Gladiator arrived. Instead I ordered from Gupton and sold my trade outright. While I lost the sales tax advantage, over half of that amount was made up by the private-sale amount on the vehicle. The Gupton deal was $thousands better than any local deal, and just importantly the information in this thread gave me reason to believe their deal would be as advertised and easy. And it was exactly that. I’ll definitely buy from them again based on their willingness to sidestep the “normal” deceptive dealer sales practices.
It's too bad I can't at least get a semi-firm number on trade, even if it's lower, because now I have no clue - will it be 38 or will it be 42? Roll the dice! The long delay getting ordered Jeeps is not helping.
Worse - blue is not a popular color. You don't see blue on the lots, and you don't see "loaded" Gladiators.
I've looked using Jeep's site (which keeps trashing out when you try to change zip codes as it limits you to 250 miles and I want to search UNlimited miles. I don't care if it's in Reading, PA - I want to see it)
I've used cars dot com and I find nothing in blue with these options. They are all missing LED lighting and the safety group and the popular group, which is weird.
If there was one on the lot, it would be easy. But two months - you have more age and more miles and the numbers are iffy in two months.
