I posted this on the sister forum as well.
I just joined Tread Lightly as I am going to order a Gladiator next month. How did Gupton arrange for the additional 6% discount below invoice? Thanks for the tips!

Going to pick up my Jeep tomorrow AM.

Mojave with 285 ATs.

What is a good target cold tire pressure to start with?

Thanks,

Don
285 Is the stock size for the Mojave so you would just go what’s on the door jam from the factory and I believe it’s 37 psi

They start at a flat 5% below invoice and it only gets better from there (TL, Dealer Financing, Current Applicable Incentives).

Just shoot Daniel an email when you are ready to order and he will guide you to discount land.

FYI that TL 30 day requirement applies to purchase date, not order date.

Well in the age where everybody and their brother has a YouTube channel, I suppose it was only a matter of time before the Gupton ā€œsecretā€ went more mainstream. Happened to spy this guy on my feed with a title that sounded familiar.

I skipped through most the video myself, the guy isn’t for me and most of it is fluff about the JL and all the features he ordered. He does eventually get around to highlighting how to order from Gupton and get the discount, Renee’s email is directly in the video and the description. Great opportunity for Gupton, but I have the impression that they were already at max capacity so we’ll see what happens!

Side note, if anyone has any web developer skills it seems like there’s an opportunity here to set up a page on their website that takes initial contact and generates price estimates. Doing everything by email has to be an inefficient use of their time, especially if they get a lot of virtual tire kickers that don’t pan out to actual sales.

I've often wondered if too much attention is a bad thing for us in this case - Can Stellantis make a dealer charge more money? lol.

And I agree on the website, but yeah I'm guessing they're right at the capacity they want to be.

I hope he ran this by someone at Gupton before just name dropping and exposing the process. I know it's public information if someone does their research but cmonnnn

Well unless they hire more folks extra high demand can only negatively impact their current level of customer service, two people only have so many hours in a day. If they do hire more folks then I can imagine the discount shrinking. That may happen regardless if they keep engaging with social to generate demand for their services.

Any way it shakes out I only wish all the best to Gupton, may they continue to lead the revolution. I really think this low profit margin/high volume dealer model is the future and will slowly eek more and more sales away from the traditional dinosaur dealers sitting on lot full of stock.

Yeah I hope so too! Who knows these days, some of these YouTubers get so caught up in the race to keep generating content that they will post just about anything for clicks.

How else will he pay off his purchase? Gotta get that sweet youtube income stream, :handsinair:.

Anyways, I don't think this will do much in terms of increasing sales numbers. We need to remember that most people want the instant dopamine rush that comes with walking into the fancy store and walking out with the fancy product.

Heck, my own family still goes to the dealer and buys/leases right off the lot at msrp. That's with them knowing I actually enjoy researching vehicles. It's mind boggling but I've come to realize that we're enthusiasts here and most people just aren't.

Guess I’ll need to check in with Gupton on Monday.
Hey Trevor. Did you get a VIN update from Gupton? I contacted Jeep Chat on Monday and they said no VIN yet and awaiting parts. Might be a long shot but I’m hoping a longer than usual wait for VIN has something to do with a potential TSB/update to the front suspension to fix the bottom out issue on Diesels. Prefer to wait if its dealt with at the factory.

Hey Bob, I contacted Daniel on Monday and he did provide me with my VIN. (He was busy and forgot to send it to me as one of the other posters suggested might be the case.) Jeep chat gave me the standard "the order is in and parts are being sourced" update. I ordered a gasser because I insist on driving a stick - maybe your theory is correct on why you're seeing a delay.

I think a lot of folks are still driven by immediate gratification, but that is changing. From what I understand nearly all of Gupton’s sales come from factory orders. The folks on here only represent a fraction of the people willing to wait as a trade-off for getting exactly what they want, with no hassle and at an excellent price.
