It arrived yesterday . The trip could not have been better. I have to acknowledge that dealing with Renee was just as enjoyable as driving away in my new Gladiator.
I met a couple as well as another gentleman that arrived just after I did. They were also blown away by the efficiency, courtesy, and professionalism of the staff. Daniel has a good team indeed .
Interesting enough, about 150 miles into the trip back home , my wife called me to tell me her Wrangler just suddenly died. Ended up being just a dead battery. Just ironic that the day I get mine, hers dies!

Anyone have an idea on shipping timeframes for manual transmission gladiators? I'm wondering if my Willys sport with manual might be faster/slower to deliver due to the relatively small number of MTs that get ordered.

I ordered a MT Rubicon on 2/28 and it's still "Scheduled for production" according to Jeep chat. However @Geoarch got one built in about the same timeframe: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/options-holding-up-orders.57031/post-938185

Did you get an extended warranty? I'm wondering how that's handled at Gupton. Is it a given price or is there a negotiation? Are there any other last minute decisions to make at pickup?
No extended warranty for me. I can’t recall if they asked about it. If they did, the pitch wasn’t done in a pushy manner.

I'm a tad tardy in showing off my new purchase from Gupton. By far the best dealer experience and well worth the 5.5 hour drive. Renee had me in and out in record time and she was awesome to deal with. Daniel was outstanding and easy to work with on the ordering process. Here are a few pics of "Otto" (tentative name which is the name of Sarge's dog from the Beetle Bailey comic strips - which was my favorite comic growing up).

The reason I took a less than private sale amount on my old truck is exactly because of this hassle. I've sold several motorcycles private party...and this is the exact scenario I was met with every time. Or the post sale discount requests, Hey 3 months after I bought this bike the battery is dead or I noticed a scratch on the underside of one of the mufflers can you refund $XX.
I've sold almost every vehicle I've ever owned (20+), including motorcycles Private Party and never had this issue. Put in "vehicle sold as is, no warranty implied or expressed" in the bill of sale and never once had anyone try and contact me post sale to complain about something.

Ive sold every vehicle I ever owned but one private party also and never had even a call after the sales. That’s from a $2500 baretta in HS to a year old Bentley Continental. One vehicle I didn’t I traded to dealer my brother was sales manager. Always been a problem free ordeal in my experience.

You guys have been lucky. Tire kickers, lowballers, you name it. You can be on the half-way to low side of NADA, KBB and others for "private sale" and they'll come over all excited and then mumble around and offer you, for example on a $4,000 vehicle price that could private sale for 4500 - will you take 3 for it? And after spending an hour of your time and you are sure it's a done deal - that's it.
Then there are those that give every excuse in the book and want YOU to go to THEM with it, and then the woman who spend an hour of your time and looks like she's ready to get money out - wants to take it to her home an hour away so her son can look it over, or wants hubby to come look but he can't get there for 2 days. BS.
My son has had similar experiences with selling household goods here - so he will give the stuff to Goodwoll, Salvation Army, or even trash it in the landfill. He said last time he'd had enough of the people trying to get a $400 dining room set he had for sale for $100 and they wanted to give him $50. Screw that BS. Similar for a like new Maytag dryer I had - 50 bucks and people wanted to give me 10 or 20. BS
When I was trying to sell my Silverado to buy the JT - similar. So I said screw it, drove it to the local Chevy dealer and sold it in minutes. Now they can go there and pay thousands more.
It's not the whiners and complainers after the sale, it's the BS to make a sale. Even pricing on the low side, which I generally do just to be done with things, you get people who can barely afford the drive to get there trying to buy a vehicle for a fraction of the price or they want some crazy arrangement.
Even selling my Yamaha Maxim 750 years ago was a hassle - picking every little thing apart and acting like they were Mike Wolfe or something lowballing. I research before I sell.
The only sale I did of cars that went perfectly was my 70 - some of the arm-chair economists and appraisal experts on FB were saying no way, it'll never happen....... I had money sent to me from Texas and a few days later the buyer came up and handed me the rest, full amount in cash, then sent a transport to come pick it up a week later. ZERO hassle, full price.
But other stuff, other vehicles, no way.
I'm getting to be like my son - some things I'll trash first. Last time I cleaned my garage I shocked my neighbors by hauling stuff up to the road and put a big sign that said "FREE" in the yard. A high school shop teacher was thrilled to get my big Forney welder, helmet, containers of rod, cables, etc.

I just tell people before they even arrive that if your looking to give me a price not close to mine than don’t waste your time. Or just say I’m firm on my price. Those two usually let people know I’m not settling for some bs offer

Sometimes it works - sometime not. A fellow looking at a Jeep I had - he knew, and I had told him I JUST listed it, it hadn't been on the market for any time at all, so I wasn't coming down and then after almost an hour - out came the "offer". Maybe it's an Iowa thing.
