I removed the rear seat and ordered GooseGear platforms for the full rear section. They were quite pricey, but the ease of installation and better footing for my pup is well worth it for me.

I wish I had the skill & patience required to make some of the DIY platforms you guys made. Great job!

Lucas, my rear seat delete was designed specifically for my dog. I removed the seats so I could build the platform as low as possible making it easy for him to jump in and out of, even when he gets older. I removed the carpeting and sprayed the floor and deck with Lizard Skin to make dog hair easier to clean, and to give him better footing on the aluminum diamond plate. Diamond plate is very slippery when wet. I bent the entry area of the diamond plate to make it easier for him to climb in and out prevent his feet from getting caught on anything. I ended up putting down 3/4 gym mats for him to lay on. They are easy to clean and give him some padding. I have a lot of tie downs and tried a leash and harness set up but he kept getting tangled up in it so I don’t tie him in anymore. I also got door shields from Weathertech which protect the inside of my doors from his collar. I did a similar thing to my RZR.

I just replaced my Weather tech mats with Thinskinz door covers. Easy install, perfect fit and coverage. They look great and seem durable. And best of all they will be easy to clean. I highly recommend .

Thank you for sharing! I was just researching these earlier today. They seem like a simple solution to protect the door panels from Fido's shenanigans.

Unlike Most of You, I have 3 dogs and the ones that ride in the Back/Back are covered by the smart cap, Even with the wilco tire carrier and spare they have Way more room than the JK and I have tons LESS Hair. I put a rubber mat in there and recently added a water Station but I am having problems with spillage. I tried a plastic piece with slits but still spills-May have to rethink. I carry a jug of water also.

Man, with that kind of "security system", you can leave your top off and keys in the ignition wherever you go and nobody will mess with your Jeep. Good looking group.
lol well my experience with pitbulls ( since 1983) is thar they are not as good as guard dog breeds for guarding but I suppose they can look intimidating

Every one I've ever met is a giant baby. Such good dogs when not raised to be a shithead.

$35 and 1/2 a day screwing around in the garage. My rear seat hasn't been installed for over a year. Two Great Danes fit just fine back there. Then the wife got crafty and built them each a 4" removable bed.

Nice work! Two Great Danes back there? That would be interesting to see.

I’d love to do a rear seat delete type of thing for our GSD but she’s become accustomed to being able to use the rear sliding window. Majority rules and she’s the majority.

See pics. I just engineered it out of spare parts. Eye bolts from lowes put through roll bar. Double a nylon rope and put a clamp of some sort on each side to limit the carabiner side to side movements so the strap attached to the dog's collar or harness allows only his head to his shoulders to extend out the window. It's important to have swivels on each side of the connecting strap so it doesn't bind up from the dogs movements. I canabilzed two old dog leashes and used a strap sold at pet smart that plugs into the seat belt. I cut the seat belt plug off and bought two carribeaners (good ones). Hope that helps.

Playing "Arm Chair Quarterback" here, but could you use grab handles instead of eye bolts to secure the zip line part? ... connect (2) heavy duty Carabiners at each end?

Still thinking this through

- grab Handles
- heavy duty Carabiners
- double rope clamps (slide stop)
- just inside the slide stop install 2 more double rope clamps ..... Use one side of the double rope clamp on one side of the zip line .... The other clamp another section of rope to each end for the slide stop
