Has your dealer even confirmed that they can program and add the sales code for the all the electronics to work?

I know FCA on other platforms has denied allowing sales codes to be programed to vehicle unless they were "as built" with it already or the item being installed is part of an approved Mopar accessory kit already released.
My dealer supposedly contacted "Jeep" and had sales code GXD to my vin, then flashed the system again and like magic, passive entry was there. It seems that at least in some cases, IF the option was available and IF it can be added with genuine Jeep parts, it can be done and they will.
Unfortunately auto high beam was not part of the advanced safety package when my truck was built - it was added to that advanced safety package the following month, so they were not able to successfully add it.
It appears that only options available for a vehicle at the time it was built, and that was available for that level of vehicle, can be added that way.
Auto high beam will just be something I may have to plug back in should my truck ever need a flash again but that's ok - it's simple.

So if the heated seats were a valid option for that truck at the time that it was ordered and built - maybe it can be put into the VIN and become part of the vehicle as a matter of record.

Lets start with looking in this area for these connectors

There are 4 individual small connectors which plug into the HSM

I have been looking into ways to do this after market/makeshift. My thoughts were to get the steering wheel and dash plate with the cold weather options but install aftermarket heated seats. Wanted to see if the plug in for the dash was missing the pins for the seats and steering wheel and if so add the missing pins for the seats and run the wires to the aftermarket seat switch wires!

As for steering wheel, one could get the (after market) heated seat modules cheap and wire the steering wheel to that then to (hopefully)missing pin in dash plate connector for steering wheel heat button! Think this is possible?

I know the radio wouldn’t control them but theoretically the factory dash buttons would and look/function as if they were oem

I would think even if you didn’t do the factory dash, if you got the heated steering wheel and ran new wire from the heating elements down to the aftermarket heated seat module you could make it work as long as you didn’t mind it always being in when the seats were on!?

Is there an update to this? Are we able to add an OEM heated steering wheel if we didn’t get the cold weather group

Would love to add this as well.. and like @Hootbro said it seemed to be too hard when other people investigated…

The steering wheel may be out, but people have installed aftermarket heated seats under the upholstery and tied it into to extra fuse, then just mount switches somewhere like by the cup holders.. didn’t seem too hard.

I did it on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon - I posted the process over on the JL forum. I have no clue how the gladiator harness compares but on the wranglers there are at least five different "dash" harnesses for the JLs and that's what you need if the preexisting connectors are not in place for the comfort module. I suspect they are not but if they are it's going to be super easy to install once you assemble all the parts.

For me, I had to build a sub harnesses and merge them into the existing body harness and CAN system. I found a used dash harness and extracted what I needed (all in the spreadsheet on the JL forum) and it worked. I didn't even need to program anything as it worked with the climate stack buttons. I assume to add the features to the display I could have programmed that but since I always use the buttons it seemed like a waste of time.

It's time-consuming to build the harness but once that is done it's all plug and play.

I'm RAMSTEEL on the JL forum.

What was the outcome of this retrofit? I’m interested in doing the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
