I went with number three Warfab Sheridan biggest differences are it is not a step but it also protects your safety chain attachment plate which can get destroyed, and is a solid shackle attachment point. I can not leave things alone and cut mine down a bit to be only 1/4” below chains. Which gives more clearance but on flip side it might allow bumper get hit more as it does not drag as soon …..Jack

You did exactly what I wanted when first looking at these. I wanted one higher up to avoid clearance issues, but also wondered if that'd make it easier to bend up into the hitch on hard hits. But it's usually a slide, not a hit.

I have choice number one. It works great. Did hells revenge, top of the world, golden spike and Kane creek. Did its job well. Nice that you can use the hole for soft shackle through the hole to pull the person behind you if needed :)
#1 mines been all over Moab
#1 worked great for me. This is day one, after running Fins & Hell's with 3.5" lift and 37's.

That last pic suggests not, but have any of you found your chain hook points bent/scratched because the slider is only in the middle?

I use this one. Strong and looks good. Has not failed me on the many rocks it's been used on.

And the price is right.
Thank you. Yes the price is nice. The Amazon post above yours looks like the same Chinese skid but almost twice the price.
Yep, looks identical to the Body Armor one many people have mentioned, just without the BA badge. It's also on Amazon for $70. https://a.co/d/eBvMl1A

Every thing is a give and tank. You can have a larger heavier piece that protects more, but that will also drag more and decrease the already short departure angle. Some will act as a drag almost a "hoe" as big as they are.

I have the one posted, it's small light and has an anchor point. It protects the tail, and hitch well. It does leave the chain wings exposed. I have scrapped the anchor rings, not much mostly took the paint off.

I ordered the one off eBay. Aside from protecting departures a I also wanted something for protection from texters on the streets.

I ran out to snap a pic and noticed the left side has been adjusted via terra-firma. Am I worried about it enough to run out and buy something different? Nope.

That's about what I expected. All comes down to the luck of the line. I don't have a skid yet, and mine have scratches, but no bends (yet).
