Does anyone make a hitch slider with a built-in riser/extension? I want a slider to protect the OEM hitch but still want to put a bike rack or WaterPORT on my hitch. Raising the bike rack would also help with departure angle.

Something like a hybrid of the two products below:

I think the piece you are talking about would be a compromise, not a good hitch skid and not the best bike riser. Remember your bumper is above it so the hitch raiser you show would work but the skid would be way back and actually drag and cause problems. I have not seen anything like you are asking for but a weld shop should be able to add a skid to the hitch raiser. I have a skid, bike rack and tow with various hitches, my hitch skid is in all the time unless I need to tow or something else, it is my hitch cover, and first line of defense from bumps in the in the rear and a damn good skid….Jack

Is there enough clearance to weld a 2" receiver on the top of the skid?

I’ve got the BODYARMOR 5136 hitch, it’s an awesome design and a bruiser.

Wouldn't the Skidmark4X4 hitch cover then drag the presumably expensive bike rack over whatever obstacle it just traversed?

Sure, not in all cases, but certainly some. Yeah the skidmark isn’t ideal, I’m not going to get it. I really want one with a 2ā€ receiver that is raised up 2-4ā€.

It’s also more for convenience, being able to leave the hitch slider on at all times, vs having to carry it and swap in on when needed. Bike rack will typically be removed and left at the campsite, if appropriate.

My hitch slider is home made and catches the eye of all the compact rice rockets that tailgate me. They will get a real smack-down.

If you want something there all the time, I really think you need to get a hitch skid drop it off at a weld shop with a Tractor Supply hitch tube and have them make a hitch skid with the receiver just above the step of rear bumper…..Jack

As usual, I couldn’t have said it better, Jack. :) my skid is in unless towing or using the bike rack.

Yeah, I’m leaning towards this. Thanks!
