Hood all the way back

I did not know this . Of course I'm new to Jeep, been a Ford guy all my adult life. Do people put a cushion on the header just for this? Very cool! Screw that prop rod , I see doing this any time I open the hood (unless it's really windy. Ha !)

I installed the Red Line Tuning struts to eliminate the prop rod. They have quick disconnects that allow the hood to fold all the way back. In two years, I have not yet needed to have it open that far.

For the first few years then all bet are off.? I still try to put a towel or something in between hood and windshield on my LJ too. I've had it since 05.

That I knew . Had to lower it to install a sunshade . The wiper arms fought me till I saw where you can shock them off like tie rod ends . Easy Peasy . The weather has been so nice I haven't reinstalled the wipers yet . Ha !

yup I put a towel/blanket across the windshield just in case. Super handy for running wires, cleaning, or general wrenching.

It's FAR easier to pull the battery in a YJ with the hood back. Not so bad with the JT.
