Are these just as good if not better than Mopar? Is there another preferred brand available?

Is install easy enough?

IMO these are better than Mopar. Super easy install too. Took about 20 minutes top to do the Freedom panels. The rear takes longer but still quick and easy. They say you can install the rear with the top on but I took it off. I mean it's so quick and easy to do, why not. I just did mine this week.

A lot of owners also like coverking. Seems more involved install wise but I suspect it will be slightly quieter. Not sure if it would offer better thermal qualities.

Everything he said above. I liked mine so much in my JK that it was one of the first things I bought for my Gladiator. Cuts down on heat and wind noise. The added bonus is that is also makes your stereo sound slightly better since the acoustics are better in the cabin.

I also removed my top for the installation. It requires some light sanding and didn't want all the white dust all over from the hardtop.

My new '23 overland came with the Mopar headliner kit and one thing I didn't realize is there are panels for the sides of the hard top as well as beneath the sliding rear glass. The rear panel is held on with velcro in order to access the hard top bolts. Not sure if these additional sections do much, but it makes for a clean look and can't hurt to lower the noise levels and heat IMO.

I installed rear hotheads in place without removing the top (no choice - I have a camper installed that prevents removing the hardtop). I didn’t bother sanding anything, as I added some Kilmat sound deadening too. I just scrubbed the Kilmat foil surface with isopropyl and stuck them on. VHB tape is amazing stuff.

No idea how it compares to Mopar, but it’s certainly cheaper and wasn’t at all hard to do. And gives you the opportunity to add extra deadening which I recommend.

I was pleased with the set of the Hardtop Headliners on my LJ for over 10 years, so it was one of the firsts thing I bought for my JT. Rather than take the top off, I just jacked up the front of the top a little (with the rear bolts loose) to ease the installation the panels.

Install is easy.
Highly recommend ordering a box of Killmat on Amazon…. Cover the entire area the headliner covers before installing the headliner. It’s a Jeep….. but seriously this helps kill a significant amount of noise when driving…. Worth the $50 and 30 min of time to install. (Back seat will have way more sound deadening than front seat…-but still worth covering front and rear)

Order and received mine a couple months ago. Took about 10 days before order was shipped and two weeks total before I had them in hand. I think they do them in batches but was worth the wait.

I did the rear with the top left on but loosened and propped up like their instructions show. You only need to scuff if very lightly and dust was not that big of an issue for me and cleaned up easily.

I’m in the cover king camp after leaving Mopar. The Mopar ones are overpriced for what they are. I did a write up on the install of the sound deadening. Highly recommend that for any of them since it will / does make a big difference.
