I used to carry my yaks same method as Frank...
until saltwater and sand got between the rubbers seal and rust away.

This is what I got and I've been happy with it. I originally had racks over the bed but I like being able to have a bed cover.

This and it works well. Used it for the first time this weekend. 2 10’ kayaks. 12’ or longer would’ve fit better, but worked fine with my 10s.

I use the Yakima Overhaul HD with LockRack. Went Yakima because i can remove the racks fast if i have something large to put in the bed of the truck. Went with LockRack Universal X carrier for SUP & Kayak because NO STRAPS! And it locks. Drive with gear down the turnpike 70+mph no issues and for long distances no issues. Loving this setup. Hope this helps

Sorry no pics, but I use a Boonedox T-Bone bed extender to haul my 14’ Hobie. Works great.

If going in saltwater get a t- Bone or similar and get a large bilge sponge and wipe out any saltwater out of tankwell before loading. Been saltwater kayak fishing for too many years to remember and through a few tailgates and other body parts rusted out. Even had rust on headrest of ram and under seat mounts from saltwater gear , paddles life jackets etc riding in cab

Looks like the best probably most expensive option to me. Not on a Gladiator. But with a rack that would go higher than the cab I bet it would work nicely.

This is what my brother and I have used for years. The good news is you can transfer it from vehicle to vehicle. When my Explorer transforms into My JT (not holding my breath anymore), i will simply transfer the bars over. I also love the fact I can throw a gear basket on as well.
