We recently ventured deep into the Idaho Mountains with @the_draggin_gladiator and boy was it a wild trip. There was still upwards of 4 feet of snow on the trails. This meant we needed to drop the tires down as low as possible. Most of us had our tires down at 8 PSI and it made all the difference in the world. With out the abilty to drop PSI that low we wouldn't have made it very far.

So are you asking a question, or stating a fact?

I know people that drop to 5 psi all the time with no trouble, BUT, they don't have the load you're carrying.

Personally I am not comfortable below 10 psi and I don't have anything on the bed.

Looks like you have Beadlocks... I have read that with Beadlocks many go to 8 psi. Was each rig on Beadlocks?

Wow on my little Jeep and no beadlocks (33's) I'll go 10 but big heavy JT 17-18 seems safer!

Super neat country, thanks for the pictures!

I think it would also depend on the size of your tires. I'm guessing a larger tire can/will have a lower psi in general. With the stock 33 MTs I generally just go down to 20 for all day driving on FS roads and trails. I've gone down to 15 when stuck in snow.

With no bead locks. In deep snow, I'll go down into single digits with no camping gear. On regular trails, I'm in the 15 to 25ish range depending on if I'm carrying camping gear and how much. On logging roads, I usually don't air down.

Most deflators are preset to 18 PSI. Trails/fireroads I usually run 15-18 PSI. Rocks at about 10-12...

I don't run beadlocks, but at 10 PSI and some moderate rocks/off-camber, I've yet to break a bead on a run.
