How many of you guys run 37s on stock 4.10 gears?

Running 37 BFG KO2s and fairly heavy AEV wheels with the stock 4.10s, the trans does a decent job of masking the extra weight, but any slight incline and its hunting for the right gear. Mileage wise I average about 17-17.5 mpg on my work commute. With that being said I have an appt in Sept to get 5.13s installed.

I run 37 inch geolanders on my stock mojave with 4.10s. However I do not daily drive it. The truck looks awesome but if this was my daily I would stick to 35's probably. Especially if i had a long commute. Houston is about as flat as it gets but I still drop a gear or two on things like simple overpasses on the freeway. Finally got my mpg above 15 when I do drive it to work one day a week or so. If I really get on it to pass, etc, sometimes I'll drop to 4th or 5th gear.

‘Don’t forget that Houston and the surrounding area get our special fuel blends which impacts performance a little. I can feel a tad more sidewall flex and that can add to the wander some but not enough to make me consider 35s again. It all comes down to tolerance levels and individual expectations. Them’s my base data points, use at own risk. ?

I couldn’t stand long road trips with the 4:10 gears with 37’s, I was constantly putting the transmission in manual to get the right gear and 8th gear was mostly non existent. I went with 5:13’s and very pleased.
To be fair I had no issues with 37’s and 4:10’s around town it wasn’t an issue.

I’m running 37’s with stock gearing no issues. You’ll lose acceleration other than that the transmission handles it just fine. Getting 18 mpg currently. My JK on the other hand needed a regear

At sea lvl, not really necessary to regear. From what I seen in other threads, about 1k-1.5k+ altitude and regear becomes necessary.

I've got 37x12.5x17 pats on oe rim (last set before 8.5 width became necessary) with 3.5 rc spacer lift. Love it. Looks great. Lots of compliments. I have about 300lbs+ in the rear with the ace basket and hitch winch with recovery gear I always tote with. I see 15-17 mpg average pending how I decide to drive that day. Had on since 1k, now at 10k miles. In FL. Sport S Max Tow gas.

There was a small loss in power, but like most have stated, nothing to cry about. Although I about never see 8th gear. Sometimes on hwy when at speed I'll shift into it, but it seems a tad too low and mpg drops 1-2. Still able to pass of I time right. Still submerge this submarine up to the windows in the swamp and she pulls out no problem in 4lo when it gets nasty.

If street diving, they will fit with wingless removed on oe hight, tho recommended 2" lift. If offroading, definitely do 3-3.5" min for articulation. I occasionally rub when getting aggressive, but otherwise barely non issue. Be smart when wheeling.

Mine does ok. I see 8th on the flats without a head wind! The Rubi 4:1 transfer case helps a ton off road. On steep PNW trail descents, I still don't have to touch the brakes and I up shift to 2nd often. Not the case with my non-Rubi TJ on 35's. I had to re-gear. It was horrible.
If I didn't have the Rubi transfer case, I would re-gear now. If/when my bank account recovers, I may consider a re-gear. Averaging 16 mpg. Good enough for now.
My Gladiator spends more time being towed behind the RV than it does towing anything.

I notice that most regrear to at least 4.88, some 5.13, yet AEV seem to set up all their rigs with 4.56’s on 37’s.

When planning my truck I intended to regear with 37’s but a local shop convinced me to stay 4.10 as many do. His take was the 8spd, 4.10 JT handles 37’s well.

I did choose light 37’s. The 37/12.5r17 Load C BFG KO2 is only 65 lbs.

4.10s and 37s are livable if you're flat and at lower elevation . However it's less than ideal for sure , and you are knee capping the capabilities for your truck. Not to mention it's easier on the upstream components . I ran stock gears for a short time , and it only took one highway trip to make the situation clear .

Was running 4.10s with 37s but had issues with it shifting properly. Taking off the line it would just rev and had a difficult time shifting out of it. That was even after setting the computer for 37s. My MPGs took a big dip as well. I ended up going with 5.13s & that solved my MPG dip as well as the shift issues and restored the get up and go power problem, this is a must IMO.

I’m on 37’s and stock gears of 4:10’s. I travel to work approximately 600-700 miles one way about every two-four weeks. That said… I’m going to get new gears probably 4.88’s in the next year… just saving up to help my kid get his first vehicle.

I'm on 37x12.50x17 Baja Boss A/T's on Arsenal wheels. I installed the tires/wheels the day I put a 2" AEV spacer lift on. I have a Warn Evo 10s and Motobilt Hammered front bumper so there's some added front weight too.

Gears are 4.10's (for now) and I have a manual tranny. Reverse is much too high too.

Gearing sucks across the board compared to what I'm use to, especially compared to my YJ.

I'll most likely swap to 5.13's to help get the power band & crawl ratio close to what I'd like it to be.

I'm on 37s with 4.10s. Just run them for a while and see how you feel. Nothing is going to break unless you go SUPER hard.

I am running 37 inch milestar Patagonia tires on my gladiator and I did recalibrate the shift points with a Rough Country recalibration tool I can’t tell any difference in the 35’s I started out with and the 37’s I am running now it just moves right on down the road no problem and it looks better with the 37’s
