So I’ve had a camper cover on my truck for close to 4 1/2 years now. I have a RTT on it for 1 1/2 years. I need to get the tent off to replace the platform and have been scouring the inter web for ideas. I’ve found plenty of work arounds from garage hoists to diy cranes “engine lifts”. To some that look sketchy at best. Most tents average well over 100 lbs. And with lifted vehicles that adds a level of complexity. My truck is too tall to get in the garage. And the driveway is sloped at about 15 degrees. So I went with an engine lift and getting a longer square tube to go over the tent.
I ran across these guys by way of a friend who has the same issue as me. Has anyone used their products or currently using them? If so I would greatly appreciate an honest review. The magnum lift is a preorder item now. But the other model for shorter vehicles is out. Also looking at the camper cover removal system.

That's because the gladiator hardtop doesn't have a rear gate window, but the OP isn't trying to remove the hardtop, he is trying to remove a bed cap and RTT...

Can you air down the tires and fit in the garage? If so, these things are great. Might need to do RTT and canopy separate depending on weight of canopy.

The RTT sits too high even with flat tires. LOL thats one of the reasons I’m trying to get the tent off is to swap out the mounting system. Is so that I can lower it. I did reach out to “rollinJack” and left a message to call back. And I agree that this is a good reason to have “strong back friends” come over and make it an afternoon event! But I would also like to be able to do it solo if needed.

I got 3 4x4s 2 2x8s and several 2x4s made a wood gantry to lift off the hardtop on my LJ and use it to lift and set the topper and RTT on my JT. With a cheap H.F hand operated boat winch.

That is it in background, nothing hard to build. And could be taken apart easily too.

What part of Colorado are you in? I live in Colorado Springs and am out of town until after Christmas, but if the distance is reasonable I wouldn't mind coming to lend a hand.

3 tree straps, a snatch block, a winch, and a good branch. 2 straps on the tent 1 on the branch. When people look at you dumbfounded tell em you’re practicing unconventional recoveries to keep your off-road group safe.

What type of RTT? I can get my Tepui Autana off & on by myself.

A solution could be get some camper jacks and create mounts to connect them to either the RTT or your camper top.

I thought and thought on this I'm convinced he needs to hire , David Copperfield to fly over it and levitate it from the back of the truck bed.

Or just get a full-size truck.
