Honestly I dunno, I think it's some type of aggro thing honestly. Part of a 'cool factor' if you will. I don't get it, I've said before, it looks like clown shoes if you step up too big but oh well. Very few people actually need bigger wheels for extreme offroading, most just like it I think because it makes it look like they're serious offroaders.

If you bought a Jeep for fuel economy, you bought the wrong vehicle, and larger tires and lift make the Gladiator just look right, or at least everyone whoever looks at it tells me.

My brother's JT Rubi was great on the stock 33's. He wheeled it pretty hard and had a blast with it. It was impressive in every way. He went to 35's and a Mopar lift to tackle Moab, but it was great even stock.

I just put the Arcus bumper on my truck. Gotta get a winch eventually. My skid plate has been on back order for months but that is normal for current market

The rubicon or mojave steel skid fits with this bumper and matches well. I put it on mine with this bumper, incase the wait is too long for the one you ordered.

I put the Arcus on my JK and love it! THe winch plate in it is nice, too! I'm assuming you orderd their steering component skid plate. I think I ordered mine in late April or early May and just got it Thursday. I hope to install it either this weekend or next.

Anyway, love the looks of the Arcus! And it is very light weight, too.

... I think oversized tires look stupid. I respect the 1% of the population that actually uses their truck for off-roading and that needs the benefits that larger tires confer. But the vast majority of people are trying to look like something they're not—we call them "suburban mall crawlers" around here.

This goes for big rims, too. Gigantic rims with rubber-band tires on them look equally stupid—especially when they're on cars that aren't setup to use really high performance tires and rims.

When I see this stuff, it makes me wonder one of two things: either someone rolled a lot of "mods" into a car payment they probably already couldn't afford, or they got a lot on their last income tax refund and spent money on rims that probably should have gone towards maintenance.

But, as others have said, whatever floats your boat is cool. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about this stuff.

the only thing that raises the pumpkins is the tires. not $10000 of suspension. my 2021 Willys Sport, bone stock by the way, with the 32's is as capable as you will need 99 out of 100 times.

Yes just waiting on their skid plate to arrive its been on back order for some time. Had I know Oracle was going to come out with their Light skid plate I probably would have gone that route but either is good by me. I was about to go by the Smittybuilt winch this weekend and my A/C went out. Quick $800 repair so there goes the winch for a bit again. Gotta have A/C down here in this heat

We drive jeeps. The non jeep driving populace already immediately thinks mall crawling anyway. All Jeeps are trying to project the off roading image, not just the ones with big tires. It's literally the brand image. Someone buys big tires or rims on $40k-60k Gladiator, so the first thought is that they can't afford to mod it? They've only been made for two years, and the first few years of maintenance is included with purchase anyway. After that, these are not high maintenance vehicles.
Brakes and oil changes, and eventually tires, maybe a cabin filter? Spark plugs? That's if you're referring to new jeeps. If you're referring to older ones, they've depreciated enough to where the payment isn't going to break the bank. It's all perspective of course, but tires aren't that expensive to the point of making or breaking the maintenance schedule, and they need to be replaced eventually anyway.

Huge tires and lifts are not my cup of tea. I did replace the tires but with the stock diameter. I actually like the silver stock wheels, so why change them? I do fully understand why so many want to do it, but I like mine the way it is. Here are the reasons:

It performs exactly the way I want it to in any 4wd situation I put it through. It looks great and I get constant comments telling me it’s the coolest looking truck they’ve seen. Towing ability isn’t compromised at all, and I do tow with it. My wife and I can both effortlessly get in and out of it. I can load and unload the bed easily at the stock height. I don’t personally like anything that approaches the “monster truck” look, but prefer the more classic stock Jeep truck look.

Please don’t take the above as disrespecting those of you who have the big tires and lifts. We’re all individuals with differing wants and needs. It’s all okay!

Hmm, so only 1% of Jeep owners actually go off road? do you have a link to that stat? It doesn’t really sound right to me but what do I know? I’ll give you the benefit of a doubt while waiting for proof that that statement is accurate…

We could flip that, too. I'd bet that whatever it is, the percentage who take theirs off-road is higher than for any other vehicle sold in the USA, including Land Rover (probably especially Land Rover), Toyota, any pickup truck maker, and almost guaranteed, Bronco. I can't think of any others because nobody else really makes something you'd consider taking on more than a dirt road.

If someone thinks the percentage is that low, go to Moab for EJS or join a Jeep club. Hell, just get onto some trails. Jeeps everywhere!

I get crap from folks all the time saying mall crawler because my Jeeps are spotless clean. They've no clue what we've done and the places we've gone with them. I just clean and maintain the heck out of them after they get back to home base. Makes them last a long time, like our nearly 14 year old, 155k mile JKUR, which still goes off-road, btw. My son will be the pilot on the next big trip!

And I also see bone stock Jeeps off road frequently. So I think some assume if it isn't lifted or customized, it doesn't go off-road. Wrong. I saw a stock JLU sport on Elephant Hill in Moab and it did not struggle.
