Use a gear speed calculator … there are fancy ones that will map out each gear through the RPMs or some that calculate based on a static RPM

That’s really goofy … let’s make this more fun and post up the analog and digital MPG. I swear the analog gauge is a few MPG slow.

sorry I can’t help, my last JT diesel was still on 3.73 gears and 37’s … I actually thought it was a beautiful combination. Actually 37’s and 3.73’s are the same as the Ram’s 3.21 and stock 32’s …

but report back your feedback and MPGs.

There’s an online chart with with the pentastar v6, by tire size /axle ratio, and it shows the rpm’s for something like 70mph. I would think something like that exists for that diesel engine as well, and you would need some online calculator to get those other variations.

are you trying to see if folks are dropping out of 8th or something, for the 65mph range?

edit: in terms of 85mph, that’s only legal, in region specific areas, and I wouldn’t want folks trying to take a picture of that while driving ( nor their passengers ). Honestly, I think the request of this thread is beyond the bounds of good judgment, and you should find another approach to finding your answers. Good luck.

Because I thought a calculator would be a great way to determine the RPM of a “JTDiesel” with 37’s and 4.56 gears … I’ll just see myself out, obviously my idea was retarded.

I haven't heard anyone done 4.56 with 37s on this forum. Might wanna try over on the JL's forum. I have a Scangauge, i can give you my reading in digital mph and rpm, but I'm running 4.10 though.

Its not attitude. I don't understand why commenters do that constantly. Why do they comment on threads they have nothing constructive to add to? Its a waste of their time and the Op's, it gums up the thread with irrelevant gibberish. Legitimate posts regarding gearing all over this forum and others are wrecked with irrelevant comments. There are plenty of pics posted of speedo's and Tach's at certain speeds, this isn't a novel idea or request accept for the setup I am seeking.

Sorry but no patience really for people who leave comments that aren't related to the thread topic and then say "sorry I can't help".

I appreciate it but really want to see the 4.56 numbers. so AEV is running 4.56 on the JT370. My gear shop is highly suggesting 4.56 for the diesel with 37's, said they wouldn't do a 4.10 for me because it isn't enough difference from the 3.73 to spend the money on.

Here is the problem, after going through the JL forum and this one, reading everything I can find, there is no consensus on RPM, MPG or anything really, everything is subjective, 2 comments in a row will yield totally different opinions on 4.56 w 37's, some love 4.10 some don't. I really just want to see RPM's at 55 or 65, I guess 75 and 85 might be a bit much but the idea is how fast is that diesel spinning at highway speeds with 4.56 gears. MPG not the primary thing here. Wear on the engine and turbo, transmission matter. If its a couple hundred rpm different from stock its not a big deal but some posters are talking about 400-500 rpm difference which matters.

The idea for this post comes from seeing a few of those pics of gauges while driving, they are helpful.

WTF shop is asking for this? Do they not believe basic math?
The most respected and oldest gear shop in town. They have all the charts and programs but wanted to get a snapshot of my gauges at freeway speed. I guess they are thorough.
