First: Find who has my truck and go full John Wick on them.

Start with the cheap quality-of-life stuff: Tazer Mini, dead pedal, power to the bed, tonneau cover, mud flaps, wrap the paint in clear before it gets chipped or scratched, dog cover for the rear seat, rebuild my tool/recovery kit.

Next is suspension, 2.5” Metalcloak kit again, wheels, tires.

Then winch, lighting, sliders and skids
That’s a really well thought-out build order – quality of life first, then capability. The Tazer Mini is such an underrated first mod too. Are you running the same Metalcloak setup you had before or trying something different this time?

Auto stop start eliminator. 1 hour after I got home from the dealer I ordered the eliminator, weathertech floor liners and window vent shades.

Headliners in the hard top were the very first mod. Big improvement. Especially with the black hard top. Both JT’s were bought in summer.

Then front mud flaps, rock rail steps, shocks, longer lower control arms, and a bed cover.

Winch and bumper. If Luke had a winch, he would not have needed Yoda to lift his X-wing out of the swamp on Dagobah. Or every jeep owner needs a Yoda.

I would order a Mojave X with every option.
35x10.5 Tires, Rokblokz Flaps, Bumper (TBD), Winch. I do have the Cover King carpet head liner and the Bed Rug, those are another two must haves for me.

Then try harder to find a white aluminum top vs the ARE Canopy. If money was really no object I'd lean toward a Project M Camper. 😳

I've never seen the need for a dead pedal? Guess I need sit in one that has one and see what I am missing! : )
If you order a Mojave X with every option (like mine), you would already have the factory headliner.

Dead pedal. I put mine on our new Mojave before I even drove it off the dealer lot!
BINGO!
Smartest answer yet! (For my situ).
But, I had to learn from my own mistakes.

Seat Jackers & dead pedal saved my fat @$$.

Say you wake up tomorrow with a completely stock Gladiator in the driveway. What’s the very first mod you install before anything else?
I would replace the hideous new Renegade style grille with the earlier Jeep style grille.

I usually install a winch first.

I think this is a tough question because it really depends on what "your build plan" is, you know, what are you planning to do with the Gladiator.

The Overlanders will have one prioritized list, th Krawlers will see that list differently, as will the hunter/fishermen and the guys using it for work.

My Overlanding build out has been massive, but I do think the one thing that has made the driving experience the best, and I would do from the outset with any Wrangler or Gladiator I own, would be to install the Cover King Topliner with Boom Mat style insulation/sound deadening.

I've driven Jeeps for 40 years and have loved them all; but damn, the reduction in cabin noise makes any activity you are using your Wrangler/Gladiator for a lot more pleasant.

Jeep Gladiator If you had to start your build over, what's the first mod you'd grab? 00_TheGirls
