Fine except for that bit - very very different animal. If it gets to that point here - (it already is in other parts of the world), only "preppers" (not meaning as a derogatory term!) will be safer - not safe, but safest, safer, whatever.

There is nothing illegal about owning a firearm. It is even enshrined as the 2nd most important right in our constitution. Even higher up than the examples you are leaning on.

Answer that question and you can begin to understand the reasoning behind those who are protective of their data privacy.

My truck is paid off couple years ago and powertrain warranty is ending soon. I just want to disconnect myself from the mothership lol. I went down the rabbit hole yesterday reading up on the Sierra 4g Airprime card specs to see if i can just disable outbound comm and retain stock nav gps functionality. Think i figured out a way to do it and still retain inbound (RX) for OTA updates.

Am I right in thinking that the communication to mother ship is CELL based- GPS is GPS and would still function?
Yeah, you'd lose the OTA updates - maybe............ I sure get a lot of those and it messes up the "home" screen for a couple of days after the update.

There're 3 antennas total. Primary cell antenna Tx/rx is via LTE 4G. GNSS is from a separate XM/GPS antenna but does gets route through the embedded air card for nav gps position. The secondary cell antenna is function as Diversity/RX2 and it's inbound Rx only for a higher throughput download. Once the primary antenna is disconnected or fooled, the secondary will still providing 4g service but only in RX mode, outbound/TX is not possible per hardware configuration. My XM Gardian is also diactivated/unactive so I'm not worries about that.

This won't prevents ads or OTA updates but it does prevent data from leaving the truck. But, those who don't care about the stock nav and want to stop both TX/RX comm then just removes/fools both cell antennas.

Second Gladiator since 2020, wife has had JLU since 2020, daughter a JLU since 2022. No ads on any of them.
Guess I’m in the secret club. Should we start our own thread similar to the Mojave, Rubicon, or various color variations threads?

No ads on my 22 Gladiator Sport yet. Fingers crossed or I'm ripping it out for a Stinger Horizon. Rather pay 1500 than see ads.

Beautiful, isn't it? That's one reason I chose that one.

I love those small town feel city squares. Some are even stuck in the middle of a big city. Add those mountains into the mix and it makes for a place I need to visit.

The only ad received here was for the extended warranty (service plan), and then just once. It was very annoying. It would show up every time we stopped, then disappear when we started moving again, that is until I saw the close button.
